"Erik, this is not a good idea."

"Shut it Daroga, I don't need your input this is happening and you can't stop it." I snap

"Do you even remember the last time she saw you? Do you not remember how you almost killed her fiance, forced her to marry you, and burnt down the opera house!"

"You have no idea what happened the last time I saw her." I said calmly

"Erik you can't do this to yourself you haven't seen her in eleven years. You were almost over her, you-" I cut him off that was the final straw

"I was never almost over her," I say my voice raising with each word, "I have spent the last ten years thinking of no one but her, I can't sleep because when I do I dream of her, I can't compose actual music without her, Nadir I love her with every ounce of my being and if you think for one moment I was 'almost over her' your wrong!" I'm yelling by now, I close my eyes and take a deep breath trying to calm down, "Out."

"Erik I-" he starts, I don't want to hear it

"OUT!" I scream and he rushed out of my office

I silently sit at my desk resting my head in my hands. Thinking of a way to calm myself I quickly get up and go back to my music room slamming the door behind me. Sitting at the organ and looking at the photograph of my Christine in front of me, I continue on the song I'm writing for her performance. I only have it half way done, for when I go to work on it I always end up getting interrupted. As if on cue there was a knock on the door. Sighing I turn over the photo of my angel and close the music book. Getting up to see who is at the door I can hear Madame Giry talking to her daughter.

"Can't you see that the boss is at work, can't you see that he has more important things then you and-" I stop her off by opening the door

"Madame, may I help you?" I ask rather annoyed that they interrupted my work,

"Erik, may we come in?" she asks

I move out of the way to let them in.

"Did you watch, did you see the crowd the way they cheered, I hope you're proud, did the costume look okay?" She spit out questions

"Yes, of course Meg." I say only half paying attention as I look over my music

"Did you forget that this was opening day of the new season?" Madame Giry snaps at me, I glare at her then look back down at the music sheet, "do you not care about our success, do you have more important things then this."

"Madame that is enough." I say glaring at her again

"It's Christine! Always about Christine!" She yells causing me to look up as she held the framed photograph

"Christine." I hear the little Giry say quietly looking at the photo with sad eyes

"Do you not remember what happened, she left you for the young and wealthy viscount and left you to be found by the mob, and killed, WHO helped you get away, who helped you start a new life here in America so you could forget her. Is what we built not worth anything to you.-" I cut her off

"You will get what I promised you, now leave." I say sternly and they listen closing the door behind them, "Oh Christine, my angel, my sweet angel, I'll have you back by my side soon enough." I say quietly as I place the photograph down and leave the room.

I left back towards my own dressing room after our visit with Erik. It's been nearly ten years and he hasn't changed at all, he hasn't even tried to move on. I know he loves her, there is no way to say he doesn't but how can he be so, so inconsiderate about it. Yes he lost the woman he loved, but I lost my best friend; my sister really and I didn't have a choice in the matter I just went where I was told. It seems as though my entire life revolved around Christine, and when I finally become the star; oh forget it, I should just learn that no matter what I do it will never be about me.

I fell down onto the chair in frustration, I grabbed the news paper off my vanity hoping there would be something interesting enough to distract me. I lifted it and read the headline,

'Christine Daae to sing at opening season concert of Phantasma on June 15th'

You have got to be kidding me. I stood knowing mother would want to hear about this. I didn't bother knocking I just went inside,

"Mother did you read the paper this morning?" I asked casually

"No, I didn't have the time to. With opening day just around the corner and Erik not doing anything right now I've been a little busy." She said sorting through papers I assume are bills

"Well you might want to see this." I laid the paper on her desk and watched her pick it up

Placing her reading glasses on the bridge of her nose and read over the front page. As she was reading the look in her eyes changed to something near anger.

"She's coming to sing on opening night." I muttered as she set the paper down slowly

She stood and exited her office, going down the hall. I followed even though I knew where she was going, mama wouldn't speak with Erik directly about this so she had to go to the next best thing. Nadir Khan. After she pounded on the door for a good few minutes he finally answered with an annoyed look on his face.

"What, if you couldn't tell I am busy." he snapped

Mother pushed her way into his office and I followed. She handed him the paper and watched as he read it quickly with no concern at all.

"Did you know about this?" she asked him.

Putting the paper down he answered, "Yes, I was aware of this, if that's what you are asking."

"Why did you not tell me, this could ruin everything we worked for, we could have stopped this. How could you let this happen!" She replied snatching the paper off the desk

"How was I to stop this Madame? I tried talking to him but he's so stubborn he doesn't listen to me what makes you think he'll listen to you." He questioned sitting back in his chair

"There is no need for this, she has her own life and we have ours. They don't need to cross!"

"Well, they will find out soon enough who invited them. If they choose to stay the outcome if their own fault. Now I have have work to do and I'm sure you do as well, the dancers need a bit more practice I'm told. "

Without another word mother and I leave his office slamming the door on our way out. I stood behind in his office for a moment,

"I am sorry to bother you, have good day." I said quietly opening the door

"It's no problem Miss Giry, have a good day yourself." He smiled slightly

I nodded and left back to mothers office to see what she has to say.
