You treat me like a doll

A fragile, porcelain doll

The kind that sits on your grandmother's shelf

You touch me gingerly

You ruffle my dress

You change my shoes

You brush my hair

You parade me around like I'm a prize that you've won

You marvel at my beauty

You paint my face a pale blush when you compliment me

But with a simple mistake, you could destroy me

I could break into a million pieces

But you are careful with what is yours

You know I'm made of glass

You know there is only so much you can do with me

You know my limits

And you know I don't possess the power to get up and walk away from you

You treat me like a doll

A fragile, porcelain doll

You put me up on a self

And make me watch

As you play with other toys

And forget me until you become bored again

-----

Morbid, I know. But I don't care.
