Katherine smiled weakly at the paramedic as the woman handed her an ice pack so she could apply it to the bump on her head, which had been caused by the forceful impact of her head hitting the floor when she had fallen from Ghostface's punch.

Macher stepped out of the ambulance, nodding her thanks to the two paramedics who had just finished treating her wounds a minute earlier.

The brunette, continuing to apply ice to a certain area of the back of her head, first felt Samantha's gaze on her, and then saw her girlfriend standing off to the side, slowly smoking her second cigarette. Her eyes were dark, and she watched her lover's every movement with a heavy gaze.

The former redhead swallowed fearfully and, with her eyes downcast, walked past the few police officers who were huddled behind the yellow tape, muttering to each other, and headed towards Sam. She stopped only when she saw the toes of her older sister Tara's boots, and she looked up, meeting the gaze of the brown-haired woman, who had firmly pressed her cigarette against the brick wall, effectively extinguishing it by breaking it and pressing it into the hard surface of the wall.

- I'm sorry. - Sidney's niece murmured, reaching for the elder Carpenter's hand in an apologetic gesture, knowing that her beloved was still feeling both fear for her and anger at her right now.

- "I'm sorry"? Just "I'm sorry"? - Samantha asked in disbelief, but allowed Leslie's daughter to take her hand, her voice wavering for a moment, revealing her true emotions. The animal terror and fear she felt when she saw her beloved girl throw the ladder out the window, and the door behind her collapse under the onslaught of Ghostface's blows.

- Sammy. - Katherine whined in frustration, taking her lover's hand and squeezing it between her own. - Please don't be angry or offended with me, because you know that if I'd tried to go up those stairs, I wouldn't have made it to Danny's apartment before Ghostface broke down the door and came in. And don't tell me I shouldn't have let Anika go first, because if I hadn't, I wouldn't be able to look Mindy in the eye. - She said, begging her girlfriend to understand.

- What about me, Kat? What would have happened to me if you'd been killed right in front of my eyes, while I was helpless and forced to watch you fight Ghostface? And what about our friends, about Oliver? You made not only me, but all of us, worry. Oliver and Chad almost broke their arms and legs trying to open that damn front door.

- Sammy, please, we can't have a fight right now. I'm really sorry that I made you all worry so much, but I don't regret it, because when I let Anika go first, I knew what was in store for me, just as I knew that if I went before Anika, she wouldn't survive, given the severity of her injuries. I can't promise that it won't happen again, but I can promise to be more careful and less stupid, okay?

Macher's eyes moved behind Sam, who turned around as soon as she noticed this. The two girls saw several policemen coming out of the house into the alley, whispering to each othe

- He killed Quinn. - Roman's daughter said in a stunned voice, it seems that she has only now fully realized the fact of the death of one of her neighbors. She turned to Billy's daughter. - It seems obvious that Ethan was the attacker. He's the only one of the new guys who wasn't with us when it all started.

- Someone took our knives so we couldn't fight back. The last time Ethan was in our apartment, he wouldn't leave our side and couldn't take knives. Who did it then? - Samantha muttered to herself, looking at the black trash bags standing in the alley.

- That's right, knives. Someone took my knives away too, leaving only the one I had with me initially. And Ethan wasn't even in our room the last time he was here. Either it's not Ethan, which I doubt, or we have multiple killers again. - The brunette said irritably.
