— I told you not to scream. — Amber clicked her tongue, pressing the knife harder into Katherine's stomach, who screamed again, and again it was muffled by her ex-girlfriend's palm. — I can't rely on you at all.
Murphy stared wide-eyed at her once-beloved girlfriend, who so calmly drove a blade into her stomach without the slightest visible emotion on her face.
The pendant that used to keep her afloat, reminding the former redhead of her beloved Freeman, now seemed like a rope with a stone around her neck.
Amber smiled, taking her hand away from Katherine's face, who was staring at her with disoriented eyes, feeling a weakness that would eventually completely take over her body until consciousness finally went out forever.
Tears welled up in Murphy's eyes at the sight of the hilt sticking out of her stomach, her hand on that very hilt, and the pleasure on Freeman's face.
— Are you surprised, Katherine? — Amber asked in a voice not her own, putting a special voice-altering device to her lips, which was used by all the Ghostfaces. She laughed and accidentally brushed the handle of the knife, causing Katherine to hiss through her teeth from the pain that shot through her stomach. — Never trust a love interest, remember? I thought you'd learned all the rules, but apparently you haven't. — The brunette, without giving the former redhead a chance to say a word, again pressed her palm to her mouth and pulled out a knife with a sharp, rough movement.
If it weren't for the hand pressing against Murphy's lips, a painful scream of agony would have resounded throughout the room, but instead it was effectively silenced again.
Freeman looked down at the knife, which she was clutching tightly in her palm, and with trepidation followed the droplet of red liquid dripping from the blade to the floor.
The brunette looked up, excitedly beaming with anticipation and pleasure, at the girl opposite and put the blade to her neck. She hummed softly and busily ran the knife over her skin, thereby leaving a small scratch there, but enough for a scarlet liquid to flow.
A little blood flowed out and, slightly sliding down the skin, fell directly on the silver chain of the pendant. It's like it's become the epitome of how the redhead feels right now.
How her whole world is falling apart. A safe place has become the exact opposite of «peaceful and quiet», a loved one (even if loved in the past) turned out to be a traitor.
— You can't imagine how long I've been imagining this. — Amber said, waving the knife in front of the former redhead's face, who whimpered softly into the hand pressed to her mouth. — Actually, according to the original plot, you weren't supposed to die here, but with Sam. Like crazy lovers who died on the same day and blah blah blah. But you dared to break up with me, so take what you deserve.
Katherine staggered, trying to stop the bleeding with a shaking hand, while Amber moved away from her and was looking for something in the bedside table with a serious face. She knew that if she even tried to escape, which in general would be difficult in her condition, her ex would accurately throw a knife at her head or throat.
Now she was sure that she was capable of it. And it hurt.
Loud music could be heard from the first floor, too heavy even for the girls on the second floor. How painfully this music struck the sensitive ears of the teenagers on the first floor.
Murphy sobbed, not knowing what hurt her more. From a knife wound in the stomach or from the betrayal of Freeman, who, obviously, is one of the Ghostfaces of 2022.
She's just kidding herself, thinking that she can't pinpoint the main source of the pain that's shooting through her body. The pain feels like it's not blood that's flowing in her veins from that moment on, but fiery lava that's slowly burning her body from the inside out.
