Katherine and Sam looked at each other and, at the same time, moved closer to Tara, shielding her shorter body with their own.

Despite her sister's warning, Samantha answered the call and, seeing a man walking ahead with a hood and a phone to his ear, nodded her head towards the man.

Murphy straightened her shoulders, put her hands in her jacket pockets, and stepped forward casually, watching the man's movements like a predator. However, the man simply passed by, giving them a suspicious look. She grabbed Tara by the shoulders and pulled her closer to her older sister, ignoring the younger girl's indignant gaze.

— You can tell me later how unhappy you are with me, but for Sam, stay close to her. — Leslie's daughter whispered to Kristina's daughter, and she sighed and nodded, staying next to her sister while her former best friend moved a little to the side to have a wider viewing angle of the street.

The elder Carpenter was clearly unhappy that her lover had gone too far, but she couldn't say anything because she was busy talking to Ghostface on the phone.

Sidney's niece turned to her girlfriend, who was angrily clutching her phone, her face contorted with rage.

— Sam, don't get excited, we need you in a balanced state. — Tara whispered to her sister, taking her hand as she noticed Katherine's concerned gaze.

A rustling sound. Murphy turns around and quickly ducks as a knife wielded by a large man in a Ghostface costume and mask slices through the air where her face was just a moment ago.

— Run! — The brunette shouted to her two favorite Carpenters, punching the Ghost in the stomach with all her might. The younger Carpenter was there, pushing the attacker in the chest, causing him to fall back, and grabbing her friend's hand, they ran forward.

Samantha was right behind them, covering their backs.

Stu's niece looked around wildly, trying to decide where to run. Down the street or to the bodega?

Sam decided for them, literally pushing the two girls through the doors of the bodega and running in after them. A few seconds later, a man in a Ghost costume also burst in.

— Call the fucking police!! — The former redhead shouted to the salesman, turning around, hearing the bell above the door ring again.

Roman's daughter quickly put her hand in her jacket pocket and cursed out loud, realizing that she had dropped the folding knife when she dodged the attack of the Ghostface. And they also asked her why she didn't like small pockets anywhere, they were useless!

Katherine backed away, watching with a lump in her throat as an unknown man from the queue stood up for them, standing in the way of the Ghostface. She wanted to open her mouth and tell him not to interfere, to leave, but her voice disappeared, and only a hoarse wheeze came out of her mouth.

When Murphy saw that Tara and Samantha were next to her, not in front of her, she was relieved that when the Ghost rushed at them, she would be the first one in his path. Maybe if he's busy cutting her up, the two Carpenters can escape.

The brunette winced, digging her nails into her palms, as she saw Ghostface kill the man who had stood up for them as soon as he saw the three frightened girls run into the bodega and the large Ghost-costumed figure follow them.

Sam dug her fingers into her lover's shoulders as soon as she saw her not backing down with her and Tara.

Leslie's daughter took advantage of the distraction caused by the second man lunging at Ghostface, and she rushed to the back door, pulling on the handle when she realized it wouldn't open. The elder Carpenter stopped beside her, frantically banging on the door with her hands, as if it wasn't locked but simply stuck.
