Stu's niece's thumb hovered over the icon of accepting the call. She was already ready to accept the call and hear the distorted voice of the Ghostface, when, surprisingly, of all those present, it was Tara who stopped her, pressing the red button herself, resetting the call. The younger Carpenter just silently shook her head at her former best friend and went up to her older sister, seeing that her phone had already started ringing.
Leslie's daughter sat down on the sofa next to Anika and Mindy with a heavy sigh, leaning back on the sofa. She looked gratefully at Kayoko as she took her hand off the back of the sofa and snuggled closer to Meeks-Martin, freeing up more space for her friend.
But the brunette didn't rest on the couch for long, because as soon as she saw the changed expression on her girlfriend's face, she jumped up to her with a question ready to leave her lips.
Sidney's niece quickly put on her shoes and took a light windbreaker off the hanger when she heard that Samantha's license had been found at the scene of the murder of two students.
But something else was found.
In the shirt pocket of the murdered guy, Greg, whose body was stuffed into the refrigerator, a copy of Vince's will was found, which often featured his sister's name.
Sam stopped next to Katherine, looking at her worriedly, as if she wanted to ask, and if necessary, beg her to stay in the apartment and lock herself up, but Detective Bailey needed not only Carpenter to come to the station, but also her lover.
Roman's daughter and Billy's daughter left the building, but both stopped and turned around when they heard the door slam again. The elder Carpenter immediately shook her head and, taking Tara by the shoulders, who had followed them out, tried to push her back to the door, saying that she should not go with them, but stay with their friends in the apartment, closing the front door with all the locks.
The younger Carpenter, of course, objected that she wanted to go with them, and Samantha couldn't resist her for too long, agreeing by making her younger sister promise that she would stay close to her and Murphy.
While the two sisters were talking, the brunette walked forward, tilting her head to look at the sidewalk and the people around her, wondering if any of them might pull a knife out of thin air, put on a Ghostface mask, and charge at the three girls with a battle cry.
When Sam and Tara approached Stu's niece, who walked a little ahead, the older girl gently took her beloved's hand, immediately intertwining their fingers together, knowing how much they both needed this contact.
They both needed this tiny bit of love as the world they'd been trying so hard to build together after Amber, Richie, and Woodsboro began to crumble around them.
Leslie's daughter, without hesitating for a second, let go of their hands, grabbed her girlfriend by the collar of her jacket and, pulling her to herself, kissed her on the lips, feeling how unpleasant it was inside, the spring was tightening more and more, a bitter lump of premonition stuck across her throat.
— Not that I'm complaining. — Samantha muttered with a wide smile, closing her eyes, seductively looking at the former redhead through her eyelashes.
Katherine's knees trembled from that languid gaze, and her fingers tightened even more on the collar of Carpenter's jacket, holding her own body upright.
— It's just... If something happens and I don't get to kiss you anytime soon. — Murphy grumbled, loosening her grip on the collar of her lover's jacket, but she finally let go and stepped back only after she heard the younger Carpenter cough.
Sidney's niece exhaled, thereby trying to release all the loving fog from her head, which prevented her from focusing on the feeling of danger that she began to feel in her chest as soon as she left the safety of the apartment and into the real world.
Tara, looking at her former best friend with a strange look, went ahead and her older sister, making sure that her lover was not lagging behind, followed.
Roman's daughter, feeling the vibration in the back pocket of her jeans again, growled irritably and pulled out her phone in one sharp movement when she saw that someone was calling her again.
The former redhead pressed the green button and leaned the phone against her ear, deciding this time, by all means, to take the call and say a few kind words to the caller, even if her interlocutor was not a man with a distorted voice of a Ghostface. She shook her head silently when she saw Sam turn to her with a questioning expression on her face, wanting to ask who was calling her.
— Hi, who is this? — Katherine asked rather rudely when no one on the other side of the bell spoke first. — Who's that?
— Is this Katherine Murphy? — A man's voice asked timidly.
Vince's sister opened her mouth to correct her interlocutor that "I'm not Murphy anymore," but she shut her mouth when she saw over the shoulder of the elder Carpenter, who stopped abruptly, that she had received a call from none other than Richie Kirsch himself, a dead bastard.
— I have to go. — Squeezed out the blue-eyed girl and, without waiting for what the stranger would say, she dropped the call. She hastily shoved the phone into her jeans pocket and stopped next to her lover, but did not look at the phone screen and the still-ringing contact like two sisters, but scanned the environment with her blue eyes again, this time even more intently.
