Chapter 106: Guy's Rule

At the market, Duy headed straight to the meat vendor.

"Boss, how much is the meat per pound?" Might Duy asked.

The butcher stood up, glanced at Might Duy, and replied, "One hundred Ryo per pound."

Then the butcher picked up a knife and asked, "How many pounds do you want?"

Instead of stating how much he wanted to buy, Duy bargained, "Boss, it's already late, and your meat isn't fresh anymore. One hundred Ryo is too expensive."

"Well, I can give you a discount. Ninety-seven Ryo per pound," the butcher said after some thought.

"Even with a discount of only three ryo, it's still too expensive. I'll go check other stores then," Duy pretended to leave.

"Alright, I'll make it cheaper for you. How about ninety-three ryo per pound?" The butcher quickly intercepted.

"Eighty ryo per pound," Might Duy shook his head and said.

"Reducing it by twenty ryo at once, you're really driving a hard bargain," the butcher showed an unwilling expression.

Duy immediately turned around, pretending to leave once again.

"Fine, eighty ryo per pound, can't go any cheaper. Any lower, and I'll be at a loss," the butcher stopped him once more.

"Alright, give me forty ryo worth of meat," Might Duy smiled in triumph.

"Only forty ryo?" The butcher's chopping motion paused for a moment.

"Never seen a ninja as stingy and good at bargaining as you," the butcher couldn't help but comment. Ninjas generally have a higher energy expenditure than ordinary people, and they usually buy several pounds of meat at least.

"Thanks for the praise!" Duy gave a thumbs up to the butcher with a smile.

"An eternal Genin is still an eternal Genin, wasting so much time just to buy meat for only forty ryo," two passing ninjas nearby observed with disdain.

"Someone like him, no one would be willing to entrust a mission to him," one tall and thin ninja commented with a laugh.

"If you can't excel in ninjutsu and your behavior is so strange, even if you have the ability, I wouldn't entrust tasks to someone like that," the other, a slightly overweight ninja, nodded in agreement.

Facing their contempt, Duy just smiled and gave them a thumbs up, then walked towards his home. He still had to cook for his son.

Duy was indifferent, but Guy, who had been hiding, was starting to get angry.

He remembered three years ago when Duy and he were mocked on the street. Angry at the time, Guy had followed them, wanting to stand up for his father. However, his strength fell short, and he ended up getting beaten until Kakashi happened to pass by and saved him.

Faced with such a situation again, Guy wasn't sure if he could defeat those two official ninjas or if Kakashi would come to his aid again. However, he knew he had to act decisively.

Because of the forty ryo of meat that Duy bought, Guy was certain that his father wouldn't eat any of it and would insist that Guy consume it all.

How could Guy tolerate others disrespecting and insulting the father who raised him in this way?

Guy followed the two ninjas who were mocking Duy out of the market and onto a street.

"Three sentences," Guy said with a stern face to the two ninjas.

The tall and thin ninja turned in confusion, and upon seeing Guy, dressed in the same tight-fitting outfit as Duy, he said:

"Kid, what's with the three sentences? You two truly are father and son, both quite peculiar."

"This guy seems to be in the Academy, still a rookie," the slightly overweight ninja chuckled.

"Isn't this a perfect match? An eternal Genin and a rookie son," the two burst into laughter.

"I've set a rule for myself. If someone insults my father, for each sentence I must give them five punches. You just added two more sentences, making it 25 punches," Guy extended five fingers, stating his intention.

"Kid, take advantage of my good mood and scram. Five punches for one sentence – do you have the strength for that?" The tall and thin ninja scoffed, showing disdain.

How could a young brat who hasn't even graduated dare to speak arrogantly to them, official ninjas?

Guy chose to answer the question with his actions.
