Thank you because you still needed me 😉

I put my phone to the side and tried working a bit more.

I answered emails, planned lessons and marked some work that was handed in electronically.

After I had finished my classes for the morning I was left with one more class, English 12.

They were my favourite class. Mostly because I could see Collette and no body would question anything. But also because they had the best work.

"Okay today we're going to talk about homers work." I said leaning on my desk.

"Miss Homer Simpson?" A boy named Tyler spoke up thinking he was so funny.

"The author." I said coldly and from the corner of my eye I could see Collette snicker.

"Right, in the odyssey what are some of the main themes he talks about? What are some of the things his poems are about?" I asked the class collectively

"Hurt."

"Friendship"

"Workshop."

"Love."

"Hate."

"Humanity."

They all said something that was right. This is the best thing that can come out of a class for me, when they actually listen it helps make my job easier and they actually work.

"Great. All those things are the things he writes about. In book three what is the most common theme in there? The book we just read." I asked them.

Within the odyssey there are mini sections labelled books. Instead of chapters Homer went with the word book since it has its own meaning and doesn't have to be one big story tied into one.

"Work and friendship." Zoë said.

"Yes but he also writes a lot about hate in this book. Hatred towards the rich and poor." Parker said.

"I agree with Parker miss. There's a lot of anger in this section." Tyler says.

"Yeah but that anger comes from the work and friendship." Collette added.

"Everyone is right here. Let's see if we can find the common theme which all of you are missing from this book." I said to them all.

"It would have to be anger." Tyler said.

"No. Try again."

"It's the work, most of it is from the work bits." Zoë said.

"No. Again."
