Marionette was created by Henry Emily for FredBear's Family Diner, it was designed to protect children, mainly his daughter, but after her death, she possessed it, which made its face go from just rosy cheeks, to having two tear streaks down its face. The Marionette has been a staple of Fazbear Entertainment ever since, appearing in the first Freddy's, the FNAF 2 location, and the FNAF 1 location. It is an eerie and mysterious figure that everyone even the Phone Guy fears. It was revealed in a teaser, although most missed it because you have to brighten up the image to see it.

FNAF 1:
While not technically being in the first game, the second game confirms the Marionette is in fact in the FNAF 1 location, and VR confirmed there is a prize counter so it is assumed that's where it is.

You actually have a chance to NEVER see the Marionette in gameplay. The Marionette hides in a music box in the Prize Corner, you have to wind it up because if you don't it'll come out and launch itself into the office and kill you. It can be seen slowly getting out of the box if you missed it, and sometimes will flash in the main hallway. When you hear "pop goes the weasel" start playing, it means it's coming. Marionette also appears in the minigames, where it gives life to the other animatronics. It is unknown how it does this, but it is the one who gave life. It is in two minigames, technically 3 if we count the jumpscare.

Marionette's mask appears in the Camera 8 hallway, which is a little weird since it is later said the Marionette was captured in FNAF 6. But anyway, weirdly enough, it also appears in the hallway just standing there, before Phantom Marionette attacks.

The Marionette is supposedly not in this game, until you look closely at the clues and get the completion ending. In rare screens when Lefty kills you, he will appear in an alley sitting, and in his arms, you can see a familiar shirt pattern sticking out of him.
Ultimate Custom Night:

The Marionette returns for the ultimate custom night, and is listed as the 13th character on the character select screen. In this game, she is also in the music box, although not shown in the cameras, the music box is in the kitchen camera, but it's disabled. You have to wind it up as always and if not, it'll kill you.
