~Katsuki's POV~

Waking up on the kitchen floor felt off, wrong. I got up, wincing as my bones snapped in place. I padded to my room, Took a shower, and got ready, albeit slower than usual. Once I had everything, I picked Soot up, Kissing her head and carrying her to the car, driving to work.

"Morning" I muttered walking past Kirishima. He bolted up out of his seat and rushed over to me

"Katsuki! Where were you, man? I called, multiple times! I even came over, and I didn't even hear little Sooty!" He exclaimed worried.

I stood there silently for a bit before sighing "Just, one of those days I gue-" I was rudely interrupted by my stomach growling

"When did you last eat?" Shitty Hair asked

"I dunno, day before yesterday" I huffed running a hand through my hair, remembering yesterday how I laid in bed simply unable to move due to my absolute lack of motivation.

Kirishima's eyes widened in concern as he heard my confession. Without another word, he grabbed my arm and practically dragged me and Sooty to the break room. "Sit," Kirishima ordered, pointing to a chair before rummaging through the fridge. He emerged a moment later with a sandwich and a bottle of water, placing them in front of me. "Eat," he commanded firmly.

I hesitated for a moment, looking down at the food as if it were an alien object. But the rumbling in my stomach and the genuine worry in Kirishima's eyes pushed him to take a hesitant bite. The taste of simple bread and cheese exploded on my tongue, and I realized just how empty I felt.

As I ate, Kirishima leaned against the table, watching me intently as he stroked Sooty's fur. "You know you can talk to me, right? If something's bothering you or if you're not feeling okay, I'm here,"

I finished the sandwich in silence, feeling a strange mix of emotions swirling inside me.

"I... I don't know what's wrong with me," I finally admitted, my voice barely above a whisper. Sooty nuzzled against my hand as if sensing my distress. "I just feel... lost, I guess."

Kirishima's expression softened even more, and he reached out to give my shoulder a reassuring squeeze. "It's okay, man. We all have those days. You don't have to have it all figured out all the time," he said gently.

I let out a shaky breath, feeling some of the tension start to unravel from my chest. With a jerky nod, I slowly sat up, taking Sooty up to my floor. Sitting in front of my computer, and my desk of unfinished work I felt overwhelmed.

I stared at the screen, the cursor blinking mockingly at me. My mind felt clouded, unable to focus on the simplest tasks. Sooty jumped onto my lap, her warm weight grounding me in reality. For a moment, I just sat there, absentmindedly scratching behind her ears as I tried to gather my thoughts.

The words on the screen blurred together, forming a jumbled mess that mirrored my own chaotic mind. I felt a pang of frustration and self-doubt creeping in, a familiar sensation that only added to the heaviness weighing on my shoulders.

Taking a deep breath, I closed my eyes and let the sounds of the office fade into the background.

I opened my eyes, meeting Sooty's gaze as if she held the answers I sought. Finding what I needed and reached forward, fingers grazing the keyboard.

The keys clacked under my touch, the familiar sound bringing a sense of comfort amid the chaos in my mind. With each word I typed, a weight lifted off my shoulders, as if the screen was absorbing my worries and doubts. Sooty stayed by my side, her presence a silent source of encouragement.

In a matter of a few hours I took care of almost everything I needed. I looked up as the Elevator dinged revealing Iida, who came much later than anticipated. Happy with my progress I handed all the finished files.

"Feeling better?" He asked not even looking at what was in the file jacket, my brows furrowed "I came earlier but, Kirishima insisted I wait a while"

"Oh, yeah yeah," I said nodding unconsciously scratching Sooty "Much better"

Iida gave me a knowing look before nodding in understanding. "It's good to have friends who look out for you," he commented, his voice laced with genuine care, which was a surprise, he's usually clipped and professional.

As the day went on, I found myself gradually slipping back into my usual rhythm. The weight that had been pressing down on me earlier started to lift, replaced by a renewed sense of purpose. I tackled my tasks with newfound focus and determination, the words flowing from my fingertips effortlessly.

Despite wanting to keep going, I paused, I needed something to eat. I made my way back to the break room, where Kirishima stood by the stove making something. He looked up as I entered, and a warm smile crossed his face. "Hey, feeling better?" he asked, genuine concern shining in his eyes.

I nodded, a small but genuine smile tugging at the corners of my lips. "Yeah, thanks to you," I admitted, surprising even myself with the openness of my gratitude. "What're you doing up here anyway, your break room is downstairs"

Kirishima chuckled, flipping a pancake before turning his attention back to me. "I thought you could use some company. Plus, I make a mean pancake," he said with a wink, making me roll my eyes with a small smile.

I couldn't help but laugh at his casual confidence. "Well, I can't argue with that," I replied, pulling out a chair and sitting down at the table. Sooty hopped onto my lap, her tail swishing happily as she settled in.

As Kirishima served up a stack of pancakes drizzled with maple syrup, the sweet aroma filled the room, making my stomach growl in anticipation. I dug in eagerly, savoring each bite as the fluffy pancakes practically melted in my mouth.

"Hey, uh, thanks for earlier," I mumbled between bites, feeling a surge of gratitude for Kirishima's unwavering support. He waved off my thanks with a smile.

"No problem, man. You would've done the same thing for me, albeit more aggressively" he said chuckling. I rolled my eyes but said nothing, he wasn't wrong.

"...hey can you watch Sooty for me?" I asked, watching as his eyes darkened

"Dude, are you sure you wanna go to Multiverse right now? You don't seem okay" he pointed out raising an eyebrow.

I gave a small shrug, trying to convey a sense of nonchalance that I didn't quite feel. "I'll be fine, just need to clear my head a bit," I said, though even to my own ears my voice lacked conviction. Kirishima studied me for a moment as if assessing the truth behind my words. Finally, he let out a resigned sigh and nodded.

"Alright, just promise me you'll take it easy, okay? And call me if you need anything," he said, his tone firm but caring. I could see the worry etched in the lines of his face.

"I promise," I replied, mustering up a smirk to reassure him. After finishing up work, I went home and got dressed

Then left for Multiverse, I needed something to ground me to reality.
