When I woke up I almost had a heart attack, forgot I told Shitty Hair to keep my baby. As the thought crossed my mind I sighed in relief and sank to the floor.

I got upand took my shower as well as the rest of my morning routine. As I got in my car, I thought to check my phone.

I blushed reading the last message. I saved his contact and responded.

The praise sent hot tingles down my spine. I grinned and happily did my morning basically skipping to my car. When I got to work I took a deep breath and put my game face on

The second I open the door I'm jumped on by none other than my kitty "Sooty! Hello baby girl, did you have fun at Uncle Kiri!"

"Meeeewww!" She meowed at a girly pitch that I didn't usually hear from her. I guess my surprise showed as Shitty Hair stepped forward grinning.

"Uncle Kiri taught her that," he said puffing out his chest. I rolled my eyes

"Whatever," I said patting his arm. I left him standing there and went up to the top floor as usual.

When lunch rolled around I found myself scrolling through the news as I sat in the empty Kitchen. Suddenly something caught my eye

Bankruptcy? Last I checked those asshats were just fine, when did these bitches go bankrupt?! I immediately called Touya.

"Hello?"

"Bankruptcy? Since when?" I asked still not believing the news.

"Oh don't worry about it," he said sounding s lik too happy. I found it strange but chose to ignore it, not putting my business that aint mine. Let them extras deal with it.

"Uhm okay then" and with that I hung up. He was hiding something

As I closed my phone, my thoughts were racing. Why was Touya so nonchalant about it? What was he hiding? I couldn't shake off the feeling that there was more to this bankruptcy than met the eye. I needed to find out. But if I was right and something fishy is afoot, then what happens to me if I get caught with too much information like I was caught with my hand in the cookie jar.

I decided to go back to work and leave this alone, no matter how suspicious it all looked.

As the day went on, I couldn't help but feel uneasy about the situation. I kept glancing at my phone, half expecting Touya to call me back and explain himself. But the call never came. Instead, I tried to focus on my work and avoid thinking about the mysterious bankruptcy.

Instead of going home, I decided to head for the mall. I wanted to buy some new clothes for Saturday. "Want anything Sooty," I asked looking down at her as she trotted beside me through the mall.

"Meeeww" she meowed adorably making me chuckle

"Understood," I said nodding, fiddling with her leash in my hand

As I wandered through the mall, I couldn't help but think about how strange it was that Endeavor Enterprise had gone bankrupt. The more I thought about it, the more I felt like there was something fishy going on. But I couldn't wrap my head around what it could be.

I decided to stop by a clothing store and pick up a new outfit for Saturday's event. I wanted to look my best.

After getting everything I needed I stopped by a Chinese restaurant and bought a to-go box. And a little something for Sooty of course.

As I walked back to my car with my new outfit and Sooty's treat, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. The bankruptcy announcement was just too convenient, and Touya's nonchalant reaction was suspicious. I made up my mind to investigate further as soon as I had a chance.
