Sooty?

~Katsuki's POV~

I awoke with a start at the jarring sound of Sooty choking on something. I found her at her automatic food dispenser hacking something up. I fell onto my knees helping her get whatever was stuck in her throat out.

Finally one of the pellets from her dry food fell onto the floor covered in saliva. I sighed in relief picking her up and tucking her into my chest.

Suddenly I heard her start choking again I panicked and grabbed my phone calling Koda "Hey look I know it's early, Sooty, Help, please, now" I hung up returning to Soot trying to help but it felt like I was making it worse.

Lucky for me Koda lived in the same apartment complex as I did, same floor too. I heard him banging on the door and I rushed to open it. Not even sparing me a glance, not that I minded he rushed over to Soot.

Thankfully, we got it out of her throat. What was it, you may ask, a hairball is what it was. Koda shot me a knowing look as he gently rubbed Sooty's back to soothe her. "You really need to brush her more often, Katsuki," he scolded, softly. I rolled my eyes, feeling a slight flush of embarrassment creeping up my neck.

As Sooty finally caught her breath and settled back into my arms, I offered Koda a grateful smile. "Thanks for coming over so quickly," I said, relief evident in my voice.

He waved off my thanks with a grin. "Anything for little Soot," he replied, ruffling Sooty's fur gently. "Just promise me you'll take better care of her, alright?"

I nodded solemnly, making a mental note to schedule regular grooming sessions for Sooty. As Koda made his way to the door. I carried her to bed as I decided I'd just make an appointment for today and call in at work.

Once the appointment was made, I decided to give Sooty some wet food and made myself a small breakfast, didn't feel particularly hungry right now. After we both finished eating I got dressed and left with my baby in my arms, catching the bus right as it was leaving. I really need to get my car from Hatsume.

Later that day, after Sooty had been groomed and pampered at the vet, I finally made my way to Hatsume's garage to pick up my car. As I walked through the cluttered workshop filled with her latest inventions and gadgets, I spotted Hatsume tinkering away on what looked like a robotic arm.

"Katsuki!" she exclaimed, looking up from her work with a grin. "Your baby is all ready for you!" She led me over to where my sleek black car was parked, freshly polished and gleaming under the fluorescent lights.

I couldn't help but smile in satisfaction as I ran a hand over the hood. Hatsume always did excellent work, even if her methods were a bit... unconventional. After thanking her and paying for the repairs, I hopped into my car with Sooty in the passenger seat, ready to head back home.

On the way, I stopped by Ibara to get some accessories for Soot. "Katsuki, child how lovely to see you," she said, her voice light and airy

"We're the same damn age, stop calling me Child" I huffed.

Ibara chuckled softly, her emerald eyes twinkling with amusement. "Old habits die hard, Katsuki dear," she said, her smile warm and genuine. "What brings you to my shop today?"

I gestured to Sooty still in my arms. "I need some accessories for Soot here. She had a bit of a scare this morning and deserves something special."

Understanding immediately crossed Ibara's face as she nodded knowingly. "Of course, of course. Let's find something perfect for her." With that, she led me through the fragrant aisles of her shop, filled with all manner of pet accessories.

After much deliberation and a few playful swipes from Sooty at some feathered toys, we finally settled on a soft collar with a tiny bell and a matching leash adorned with delicate flowers. As Ibara rang up the purchase. She waved as I left with Soot and her new belongings. Once I got home I had the surprise of the week so far.

"What are you two doing here," I asked setting Soot on her window seat.

"Surprise visit," my Old Hag said cheerfully, stepping into the living room with my Old Man in tow. Sooty immediately perked up at the sound of more familiar voices, her tail flicking back and forth in excitement. She then aggressively ruffled my hair making me scowl at her.

"Now now you two, no fighting, no yelling," the Old Mas said holding Sooty in his arms are he rocher her back and forth like a baby.

I couldn't help but smirk at the sight of my parents doting on Sooty, showering her with affection as if she were their grandchild.

~And they said I should get a dog~

Sooty seemed to bask in the attention, purring loudly and kneading her tiny paws against my father's chest.

As we all settled on the couch, my mother turned to me with a twinkle in her eye. "Katsuki dear, have you found yourself a girlfriend yet?" she asked her tone sly.

I groaned inwardly at the question, knowing that my parents were always eager to play matchmaker. "Not this again, Old Hag," I muttered, rubbing a hand over my face in exasperation. But before she could continue her interrogation, Sooty suddenly leaped off my father's lap and darted towards the window, her tail poofed up in alarm. I followed her gaze to see two birds fluttering away. "really Soot?"

Sooty let out a frustrated meow as the birds disappeared from sight. I chuckled. I then made dinner while the Old Hag continued her interrogation, She didn't know I was into BDSM, while the Old Man played with Soot. Soon enough they left and Soot and I finished up our day. "Sooty?"

"Mrrow?" She seemed to ask

"I love you," I said kissing her head

"Mrrow-rroww-rroo" she meowed making me chuckle, It almost sounded like she said "I love you" back.
