Worries

I was uneasy when I woke up, and it got worse as the harsh white lights hit my eyes. I felt worried because of the strange silence in the room.

Today, my body aches and feels so heavy. My stomach is growling so loudly that I want to eat, yet I couldn't stand up when I attempted.

My gaze fell upon the individual seated on the chair just beside me, and I deduced from his posture that he was dozing off.

I'm starving and really exhausted, but all I can do is lay in bed. I made an effort to look for my belongings and phone but failed. My wardrobe has changed; I'm wearing a different clothes right now. Hindi ko alam kung paano ako napadpad dito at madami rin akong gustong itatanong.

"Av..." nag aalalang si Nathan ang bumungad sa akin, nagmamadali siyang tumayo at niyakap ako ng sobrang higpit. Ramdam ko ang pag aalala sa kaniyang yakap pero kahit na ganoon mas lalong hindi gumaan ang pakiramdam ko.

"Thank goodness you are awake, Av,"

"Where's Deuce?" When I don't see Deuce, a deep fear begins to seep into my body, and the more time goes by, the worse my worry gets. I looked for him in a panic.

He won't ever leave me, that's for sure. He's staying here with me. I can't recall if he is aware of my desire to be with him. But for now, he's all I need. Have I spoiled his birthday? He should be celebrating his great day, but I've ruined it for everyone.

"Where is he?!"

"He strangled you and you passed out!" galit at di makapaniwala na sigaw ni Nathan sa akin. Halos magwala na ako kakahanap kung saan si Deuce. Sobra ang takot na baka iniwan na niya ako na tuluyan na nga niya akong lulubayan.

"What? Where is he, Nathan? He should be here," pagmamakaawa ko at naiiyak na sa kama.

"That asshole closed off your airway making it hard for you to breathe and here you are looking for him like you're gonna die?! You're unconscious, not breathing and have no pulse, Av!"

"Please...please...i need him here..." i begged my friend. "Please make him come back? Nathan...please? Where's Deuce?"

Hindi niya ako iiwan. Hindi siya pwedeng umalis. Hindi totohanin ni Deuce ang sinabi niya. Inposible iyon diba? Sabi niya gusto niya akong maging girlfriend o saan na siya ngayon at bakit wala sa rito sa harap ko?

"Please make him come back...please," umiiyak kong pagmamakaawa sa kaibigan. As much as i wanna go and look for him my body won't let me. I feel so weak on my bed and all i could do is cry.

Paano kung hindi na niya ako papansinin! Ano iiwasan niya ako sa trabaho? Hindi naman siguro mangyayari iyon kasi wala kaming choice kundi ang magkita talaga roon. Hindi na niya ako kakausapin ganoon ba?

Sabi niya hahayaan niya ako anong ibig sabihin nun? Hindi na kami magpapansinan? Aalis na siya ng dubai? Hindi naman siguro lilipat ng kompanya si Deuce para lang hindi niya makita ang mukha ko.

"I think we should let them have their time to themselves." Bumukas ang pintuan at nakita ko si Yoni na may dalang bag ng pagkain sa kamay.

"What?!"

Nag aalalang ngumiti si Yoni sa akin at ibinaba niya ang dalang pagkain sa lamesa bago ako niyakap. "How's your feeling? You need to eat to get your energy back, Av."
