Ain't no damn school day gon' pass by from now on where i'm not looked at like an alien off of mars.
As if my situation due to my race was not bad enough, i'd made it worse by allegedly attempting murder. People were calling me a thug and giving me nasty looks, while some looked at me with some type of admiration in their eyes.
Either way, the attention made me uncomfortable.
I decided to skip class for the first time in a while and study the material I missed in the library. I tried not to mind my continuous dinging phone in my pocket, but damn he just wouldn't shut the fuck up!

As tempting as it was to respond to him, I just blocked him. If I let him get to me, I'm gonna let him hurt me again.
I try to hold back the tears that threaten to fall and put my phone face down on the table, continuing to study. A tear falls on my page and I quickly wipe it, hoping it doesn't mess up my notebook.
"Shenzi? Is that you?" A man taps my shoulder. I turn around, surprised to see Namjoon holding his textbooks.
"Hey! I didn't know you went here." I respond.
He grabs a chair and takes a seat across the table, putting his books on the desk.
Why does this man always catch me when I'm crying?
"I'm a third year so I'm not really around here much. I just happen to use this library every once in a while. Are you a freshman?"
"Yes I am."
"Ah, you got a long way ahead of you." He laughs at me and I roll my eyes, dreading the next four years of my major.
"Whats your major?" I ask.
He smirks and for some reason I feel a bit flustered by it. "I'm a law student. International law."
