3rd Point Of View

When (Y/n) finally pulled away from the warmth of Sukuna's chest, the two sat down on the staircase that led into the temple. They basked in a comfortable silence for the first few minutes, with their eyes up and staring at the stars- well, (Y/n)'s eyes staring at the stars and Sukuna's eyes staring at (Y/n).
"You're not mad anymore, are you?" (Y/n) asked the man softly, not finding the courage to look Sukuna in his eyes.

If she were him, she'd still be mad- to get blamed for doing nothing but protecting someone from pain would have infuriatiled her. But instead of scolding her about jumping to conclusions, Sukuna sat silently and contently as if nothing had happened.
"I should be asking you that question." The man scoffed, making (Y/n) purse her lips.

"I'm not mad at all anymore- I have no right to be. I understand why you hid their identies from me." (Y/n) told him softly, "What I don't understand, however, is why they're here." At that, Sukuna paused. He made no physical changes with his body language to show his hesitancy to answer the girls question, but that didn't matter at all when she could read his emotions through his aura anyway.

Unfortunately- (Y/n)'s cursed technique seemed to completly slip his mind when being put on the spot, which made the lie he told next absolutely pointless.
"Before his death, Hiyate captured a bunch of them during his last visit to China because they apparently have information that could lead to an important cursed object that I'm looking for." Sukuna told the girl, his words confident and smoothly delivered but unfortunately for him, (Y/n) knew it was a lie from the first word that left his lips.

"You're lying again." (Y/n) whispered with a frown, her brows furrowed again. The girl had thought they passed this lying phase and yet his aura was so quick to glow red. Sukuna sighed before pinching the bridge of his nose at his stupidity. She literally could detect lies.
"How could I forget?" He grumbled to himself with annoyance.
"Why are you still lying to me?" (Y/n) asked him with a hurt expression, shifting so that she could face him comfortably and look at his expressions.

"Do you trust me?" Sukuna asked the girl suddenly, making her turn silent momentarily.
"...I want to." She mumbled truthfully, his lips pursed.
"Don't answer as you from here and now- I want to know if we rewound time to three days ago and I asked you this same question, what would your answer be?" Sukuna then questioned her.
"Yes." The girl said in a heartbeat.
"Then trust me me what I say it is not the time for you to know the truth of why they are here." Sukuna told her pointedly.

"But...you do plan to share it with me eventually?" (Y/n) asked him, traces of hope in her voice. At her question, Sukuna nodding.
"I do." Sukuna told her, his aura flashing green. After seeing that his words were the truth, (Y/n) found herself calming down. Maybe he was right for keeping this to himself until she was ready- because if today taught her anything, it was that the past could still cut through her soul as if it had claws.

(Y/n) nodding slowly, giving in.
"I guess...that I could handle not knowing for a while longer." She told him with a nod, "But Sukuna, please do not lie to me again." Sukuna raised his brows at the girl, crossing his arms over his chest, amusement evident.
"Is that a demand?" The king of curses asked her with an amused huff, making her shake her head.
"It's a plead." She whispered.

"I hated being lied to by you...it made me feel so bitter inside because I thought you valued me more than that." She admitted- something that Sukuna found himself biting his cheek.
"I've never lied to anyone before lying to you." Sukuna admitted with a sigh, making (Y/n) look up with pure surprise.
"You haven't?" (Y/n) asked with slight surprise. Kazuya had said the same thing too...but for some reason (Y/n) forgot about it until now.

"Why would I need to lie when I can kill anyone displeased by the truth?" Sukuna smirked as he leaned back to look at the stars, ignoring (Y/n)'s eyes that he felt boring into the side of his face.
"Then why not me?" (Y/n) whispered, making Sukuna go silent for a few moments. At first, she didn't think he'd reply at all, but then she saw his lips part before saying,

"Because for some reason...I'm not too keen on the thoughts of both killing you and displeasing you."
