3rd Point Of View

(Y/n) spent hours reading the scroll that Lord Sukuna had given her. Once she finished it, she reread it. She wanted to commit every word to memory. This fable was called 'The one time he cried', and was about how a man could only love one woman enough to shed tears for her. If that woman were to leave him or die, he'd never cry again.

The story was written in a poetic style that made (Y/n) want to shed tears of her own after each line. The girl hoped that if she read this fable over and over again, she'd be able to commit it to memory because she wasn't sure if she'd every be able to read it again after returning it to the Lord.

(Y/n) was currently sat in the hallway beside the scroll room, bunched into a little ball as she read. Her attention was completly focused on the scroll in her hands and so she hadn't lifted her gaze since she first looked down at the parchment. She was completely still as she read, barely making movement as she breathed. While dressed in her black kimono, she practically blended in with the black marble floors- making it extremely easy to be almost stepped on.

"Damn it, brat!" Sukuna growled as he stumbled back, having almost stepped on the girl- and definitely would have if he hadn't noticed the woven scandals beneath where he was attempting to step. Why did he back away? He should have stepped on her. It would have taught her a valuable lesson about why she should not be sitting in the halls when she had a perfectly capable to to be in right beside her.

At the sound of the Lord's voice, (Y/n) lifted her head to look at him, suprise taking over her features.
"Oh- my Lord...when did you arrive?" (Y/n) asked ignorantly, making Sukuna hiss angrily, his brow twitching with anger.
"Why is it that I constantly find you on the floor?! You have a desk in there, do you not?!" Sukuna snapped, motioning over to the scroll room.

"It's...more comfortable out here, my Lord." (Y/n) replied softly, her eyes flickering briefly towards the scroll room with dread in a way that made it hard for Sukuna to miss. He squinted his eyes at the girl's blatant lie, looking over at the scroll room carefully. Then without a word, he entered the room and made his way to the back where the translators desk was.

The desk was small, cooped into the corner and closed off by four large standing bookcases, making it feel like Sukuna was stood in a whole other room- one that was tiny and stuffy. That checked off the confined spaces aspect of her list of fears. Then he paid attention to the lighting, considering the fact that there was no window that led to natural lighting coming through to this room, the room was always lit by candles. Fire- another fear of hers that he's yet to get her to admit to.

There were multiple reasons that he could think of on the spot as to why she'd prefer to sit in the hallway on the floor rather than at that desk in this room. Sukuna sighed at his revelation, running his fingers through his hair with frustration as he exited the room and went back out into the corridors again.
"My Lord?" (Y/n) asked with confusion, wondering why he was acting so odd.

"I almost crushed you beneath my scandal today- like a snail out in the rain. Do have nothing to say for yourself?" Sukuna asked pointedly, crossing his arms over his chest as he glared down at the girl. She gnawed at her lip guiltily.
"I wouldn't have put any blame on you, my Lord. It would have been my fault for not paying more attention to my surroundings." (Y/n) told him softly, making him groan loudly.

She just wasn't getting it. If this continued, one of these days he was going to trip over her like a clumsy human fool- or crush her skull beneath his foot.... probably the second option. It did not at all help the fact that she wore black, which was indeed meant to perfect blend in with the floors. That's why he chose that colour for his servants. But (Y/n) wasn't like the rest of them, he actually had reason to see her. She has proved to be entertaining.

As Sukuna pinched the bridge of his nose, he used another hand to snap his fingers and summon Uraume. She came in a burst of fire, confused for just a moment before seeing Sukuna infront of her, having summoned her.
"Uruame..." Sukuna began lowly.
"Yes, my Lord." Uruame replied.
"Get the damned brat a new kimono- anything but black!" Sukuna snapped. As Uruame's eyes widened, Sukuna's eyes looked over at the beige walls. Well, he wouldn't want her to blend with the walls either. He'd have the same problem.

"Actually, scratch that! Anything that doesn't resemble the colours of this damned temple!" Sukuna hissed angrily, frustrated.
"But my Lord...she is part of the staff-" Uruame was cut off by Sukuna's venomous glare.
"You think I don't know that? The girl's always sitting on my floors and I'm tired of watching where I step! So get the girl a new kimono!" Sukuna hissed, making Uruame gulp before nodding.

"What colour do you think would be best, my Lord?" Uruame then asked. Sukuna paused at the question. He supposed he'd need her to wear something that would stand out so that he could see her straight away from across the hall. Red. Sukuna like the colour red.
"Red. That should be bold enough, I suppose." He muttered back, making Uruame nod as she turned on her heel in order to make his orders a reality. Then Sukuna remembered something from this morning.

"Why that one?" Sukuna asked curiously, his brow raised.
"It's embellished in gold. It's so very beautiful." (Y/n) whispered, looking down at the scroll in her arms.
"You like gold then?" Sukuna asked, making (Y/n) smile and nod eagerly.
"Indeed, my Lord." She replied.

"Uraume..." The Lord then called out, making the lady stop and turn around to face him. Sukuna didn't look at her, his eyes locked on the little brat infront of him who looked like a lost puppy, unable to understand what was going on right now. Sukuna glared at the girl as he spoke,

"Ensure that there's some gold in the kimono too."
