"Satan rest her soul." Janae said. I started dying laughing as I looked at her.

"You so damn silly." I said. "But you're going to love my friends. Delilah is just like me, except she's more outgoing. I'm outgoing, but in a relaxed way. And Xavier is a ball of sunshine, he's always happy and is the biggest extrovert I know." I said to her. She nodded.

"I remember seeing them at the baby shower but I've never actually met them. Hopefully they like me." She said as she laughed.

"Girl if me and you can get along given the history of you and Marcus, there's no reason they shouldn't like you. Unless you fucked their man or something, other than that you have nothing to worry about." I said.

"Absolutely not. I've been with the same man since after I had my twins. They don't have to worry about that." She said. I nodded and we finished talking all the way to the restaurant.

"Ooo hot mama. You getting thicker babes." Delilah slightly shouted as Janae and I approached the table that she was sitting at with Xavier. I laughed and waved her off as I gave her and Xavier hugs.

"You're so silly. But Janae, these are my best friends Delilah and Xavier. Guys, this is Janae. She's the mother to Marcus' oldest kids." I introduced them.

"It's nice to meet you guys." Janae said as she shook their hands.

"It's nice to meet you too. Welcome to the crew." Delilah said. We laughed as Janae nodded. Before Janae could respond our waitress walked over. She took our order before walking away.

"Thank you." She laughed. "How long have you guys been friends?" Janae asked us.

"Lani and I have been best friends since before we were born. Our parents are best friends so it was a no brainer that we'd be best friends." Delilah explained.

"I honestly don't know what I would do without Delilah. You know how they say your soulmate isn't always necessarily your partner? Well that's true in my case because Delilah is definitely my soulmate." I said as I laughed. "She has been through hell and back with me, from all of the bad times to all of the good times and then some. That's my best friend for life. But we met Xavier around sophomore year of high school, and we instantly clicked and have been attached at the hips ever since." I explained. Delilah pouted and smiled as we all laughed at her.

"Aw bestie, that's the nicest thing you've ever said about me." She fake cried. I laughed and rolled my eyes.

"Bitch don't start." I said. She laughed and flicked me off.

"I'm surprised zaddy Marcus let you walk out the house looking like that." She said. I rolled my eyes as Janae and Xavier laughed.

"He had the nerve to tell me 'Take care of my baby, Janae.'" Janae said as she mocked him. I smacked my lips as Xavier and Delilah laughed. "As if we would let anything happen to Alani." She said. I rolled my eyes.

"First of all, not too much on my man. Second, Marcus does not control me so he had no say in what I decided to wear. Third of all, he's just letting you know that if anything happens to me my blood is on your hands since I left the house with you." I laughed.

"On some real shit though, I love how protective Marcus is over you. Out of all of your relationships throughout middle and high school and the one with Kendrick, I feel like this is the first one where I can take a step back and feel safe with allowing your man to protect you because we know Marcus does not play about you at the fuck all and Kendrick wasn't shit." Delilah said.

"And the fuck wasn't, and still isn't." Xavier chimed in. I laughed as I nodded. "This is the happiest I've ever seen you though Alani, you deserve everything good in this world and we love you so much, and we're so happy for you." He concluded.
