2019 winter break

LeClerc's POV:

I cried all night. They allowed me to stay with him, so I sat on the edge of his bed for a while and then lay down next to him. It was a very small place, but I didn't care. I barely got any sleep. I've been thinking all night. If Max won't remember me or won't survive, I don't want to live either. I can't live without him. When I was about to fall asleep, I felt him holding my hand.

"Liefje" -I heard his voice and I thought I was dreaming

"Max??" -I asked and started loudly sobbing again

He hugged me and I tried to be careful not to hurt him. I couldn't stop crying.

"Charles" -he said and I saw that he was crying

"Hey hey hey, Maxie, everything will be alright." -I said and cupped his face

I was really scared because I saw that he was looking everywhere and then he started screaming and crying. I've never seen this before and I was scared that something was wrong.

"Please Maxie tell me what's wrong. Shall I call a doctor? Please calm down. I'm here! Focus on my breathing. In and out. In, out." -I said he slowly started to relax in my arms

"I- I- Charlie- " -he tried to speak but couldn't

"What should I do to calm you down, please tell me Maxie, cherie, I can do anything" -I said to him

"Can you kiss me please? Just for a few days please. Then you can be with your girlfriend but I need you Charles" -he said and I saw that something was off

"Please tell me what's wrong" -I begged and slowly kissed him

It felt awfully good to feel his full soft lips on mine again. I felt that he was afraid, but I didn't know why, and it bothered me terribly. After the long emotional kiss, I felt that he separated our lips.

"I can't see anything, Charles" -he said and his voice broke

I thought I heard wrong. I was terribly scared. I hugged him and didn't want to let him go. I was scared, I can't even imagine how bad it must have been for him. I tried to calm him down with a hug, but I started to feel that I was hyperventilating more than he was.

"I'm calling a doctor..." -I said through tears and stood up but he grabbed my hand

"Please come back Charles... I can't be without you..." -he said and it broke my heart

"I promise Maxie, I promise I will as fast as they let me" -I said and kissed his forehead

I called Max's doctor and told him what happened and he told me to wait here until they do a few tests and then I can go to see him. I waited for more than 2 hours when the doctor came and guided me to Max and told me that he could not tell me about his condition because I am not his relative.

"He is my fiancé" -Max spoke and shower him the ring on his finger

I was completely shocked. Fiancé? And where is the ring from? I wanted to know what was wrong, but I was very shocked. I just nodded and the doctor handed me a paper.
