Arriving at the Salvatore house I heard Damon saying. "Well, you wouldn't. But your dead, not-dead vampire wife might."

"Isobel's research from when you guys were at Duke together." Elena says.

I clear my throat to let them know I arrived and Stefan continues at Elena's words. " You said that she had spent years researching this town."

Alaric sighs before answering . "Isobel's research here in Mystic Falls rooted in folklores and legends but at the time I thought much of which was fiction."

"Like that amazing vampire story." Damon retorted sarcastically.

"Aside from vampires, what else?" Elena asks.

"Werewolves." I say knowing they existed because Sheila told me about them. Everyone looks at me and I turn to Alaric who gives a nod to indicate that I am telling the truth.

"No way, impossible, way too Lon Chaney." Damon protests, making me raise my brows at him questioning him.

"Is it?" Stefan counters.

"I've been on this planet a hundred and sixty some odd years, never came across one." He pauses turning to face me. "If werewolves exist, where the hell are they?" Damon said, making me roll my eyes at his stupid arrogance.

"Aside from the obvious. So witches and vampires can exist but wewolves can't." I propose, tilting my head in question.

"Why do you suspect the Lockwoods?" Alaric asks Damon hoping to defuse the tension in the room.

"Because vervain didn't affect the mayor at Founders' Day but the Gilbert device did and it affected his son Tyler." Damon explained him.

"And at the school carnival his uncle Mason exhibited inhuman behavior when he fought with one of the carnival's workers." Stefan adds at his brother explanation."It suggests it's some sort of a supernatural entity."

"We were hoping that Isobel's research could help us figure out what it is." Elena goes on to explain our need for his help at last.

"Well, all her things are still at Duke." He tells us, turning to face Damon pointedly, he continues, "I mean her office is still there. She's technically still missing."

"So can we get access to it?" Damon cuts to the chase and asks, but when Alaric takes too long to give him an answer, he speaks again to convince him to help us. "Ric, we need to know what we are dealing with. If this wolfman thing is true, I've seen enough movies to know it's not good." He starts, "It means Mason Lockwood is a real-life Lon Chaney and that little Tyler punk may just very well be Lon Chaney junior, which means Bella Lugosi, meaning me, is totally screwed." His awful excessive use of references makes me roll my eyes.

After that Ric agrees to help and goes to call Isobel's office.
