In the dreading silence, a gush of cold wind flew past the main door, allowing a shiver to pass down their spines. It was chaotic. Mad. Murderous even. But the result would impact on their lives.

"S-So much had happened and we didn't know anything about it?!" Aslam asked bewildered.

The minute, the man whom Hashim hated with all his being, stepped foot inside the haveli, his welcoming smile dropped. All the laughs from behind, words in gestures, and gushes went over his head until Riyaz passed an easygoing smile, brutally bringing him back to reality.

Their encounter was very unpleasant, with the entire family trying to pull away Hashim from Riyaz's neck to enlighten him about his relationship.

What followed was an angry confession of an ugly past that should've stayed buried inside the couple's hearts. Hashim was losing his mind, at the sight of the man standing in front of him with a bloodied nose, smirking at him, who once tried to ruin his wife.

The anger and disgust coursed within him that he thought was done with long ago. The realization of how low this man would fall to seek his revenge dawned on him and he regretted his ignorance.

The three of them were kicked out of the haveli royally- with curses along with a bloodied man.

"We didn't want you all to worry!" He muttered in a defeated tone. An empty feeling encrypted his heart as he thought he had failed to protect his family. The ones he loved. "I-I never thought he would come for me this way!"

Hashim slowly looked up to see Rumaiza hurled into a corner, her face resting on her mother's shoulder. Her shoulders shook and her eyes were filled with tears.

She couldn't believe she was going to commit such a huge mistake.

It was all a game for him. Revenge.

There was no love.

They were all lies. Lies and deceives. And once again she was fooled by the people. Not the first time.

And that broke her, her heart drowning in overdrive of how foolish she had been and how foolish she could be- to let him walk all over her. To destroy her!

How could she remain so blind? A-Again?

"I'm sorry!" Hashim walked up to her and held her shoulder. Rumaiza refused to look at him, or anyone. She was too ashamed to even meet anyone's eye.

"Rumi?" He gently shook her arm, making her turn her head to him. Sufiya's heart clenched at her tearful face. The last thing she expected Riyaz to be was not this.

"I am sorry, I f-failed to protect you!" He whispered once again, his eyes staring into her glossy ones. "I failed your brother, I failed to look out for you"

Rumaiza shook her head in a no, repeatedly, her voice not coming out. He kneeled on the ground, looking at her with pleading eyes.

This could've turned out to be so much worse if he hadn't seen him. So much, that her life could have been destroyed.

"I will make him pay, I promise!" Rumaiza watched him with a hesitant gaze. "This time, I'll not leave him!"

The Qureshis received the shock of their lives after knowing what their most lovable daughter went through. Hammad Qureshi and his sons were furious and were ready to burn down his world.

To mess with their daughters was the deadliest mistake Riyaz could've made and they all vowed to make sure he realized that.

"What's going on?" Ezzah's voice came from the stairs and every head turned to her. Wearing a simple white kurti with her dupatta draped over her head, she carefully came down with her newborn baby in her arms.
