Neither sea-witch actually tells a lie. The biggest difference between her and Ursula is Ursula has a background whereas the original sea witch never has hers filled in. The Prince is virtually in the same character in both versions but in one he's forced to give up his dream life to do his proper duty in the original story, while Prince Eric in Disney's version doesn't have this kind of Pressure at all.
There is a second live action movie called "The Little Mermaid" that follows the plot of the Hans Christian Andersen movie that was not made by Disney but stars a former Disney star actor from the Chronicles of Narnia, William Mosley. Most probably remember him as Peter Pensive or High King of Narnia.
Here the character of the Little Mermaid's name is Elizabeth. This is a 5 star movie go check it out. It is so good. I loved it! It came out before the Disney Live action of Little Mermaid. If someone's still missing those damsel in distress movies and you like The Princess Tiana's villain in that. This story has that kind of villain in it. You will really enjoy this story.
There is no prince type character in this story period.
The Snow Queen Story by Hans Christian Andersen will be Story 17, and Goldilocks and the Three Bears as Story 18.
