STAR

In my senior year
Secondary education
Our class advisor gave me
A message
On a peice
Of paper.

It was written there
His gratitude
For the past year
He reminded me
To keep myself
Shinning
Like my favorite
Star on the night sky.

'I do not have one though.'
Do I shine in his eyes
I wonder?
Realizing this
I recalled
What I did
The past
Ten months.

I was confused
And so I thought
How do I seem
To those eyes
Around this shell?

So then I asked them
I tried to know
"How do your eyes
see me as?"

Responses we're immediate
Some were praises
Some were criticism
But all of those
Were swallowed
By the
Big appetite
Of my ego.

But then
I see
No one told me
That I shine
In their eyes
I guess
It depended on
How far you are
From the star
Who shines
On the night sky.

If I was asked
To consider
If I was
A shinning star.

I would say
That yes I am
Though I do
Shine bright
Twinkling
As if a diamond
On the cloak
Of the night sky
I do disappear
Resting under
The comfort
Of the clouds
Hiding from
The eyes
That haunts
My every move.

I choose to when
I appear and then to
Disappear when
It is too much burden
To shine for everyone
To adore the moon
Accompany the other
Stars in a ball.

If I was a star
I would be
Fixed in
One position
Always shines
But not always seen
I would not
Chase those gazes
A twinkling little star
But no one will know
That I am the biggest
Of them all
In their eyes
I am the smallest
That is only because
I am the farthest.
