"Gina? We're starting, come in the theater." Carlos says.

"I'm coming."

"You okay? Did Quinn call?"

"No. It was just an old friend."

"Okay? Let's go."

I walked into the theater and found Kourtney pacing back and forth.

"You okay, Kourt?"

"I'm just freaking out a tiny bit. It's no big deal."

"Take a breath, KG, you'll be fine."

"Hey, my Elphaba's."

"Miss Menzel."

"I just wanted to tell you both that you were born for this. You are gonna crush it. You've got this!"

"Thank you." We both chimed.

"Let's begin!" Miss Jenn yelled. "Maddox, let's mark some lighting, get some tape."

"On it."

After a chaotic tech rehearsal, I took a very long shower in the girl's locker room, fixed my hair, and headed out. He was coming to meet me before I had Romeo and Juliet.

"Gina!"

"Hi, Ricky." I said, sliding my phone in my pocket.

"Who're you texting?"

"I'm just meeting up with someone."

"Okay."

"I've gotta go. I'll see you later."

"Gina, wait." He grabbed my wrist. "Why are you stressed? Where are you rushing too?"

"I told you, I have to talk to someone. Goodnight, Ricky. Nice work today."

"Gina, who is it?"

"Ricky, would you be mad if I told you I wanted to talk EJ?"

"No." He sighed. "Because I trust you, Gina, and you can have friends."

•••

"Gina."

"Eej." I rushed over to him and took him in a hug.

"Hey, what's wrong?"

"I don't know what to do."

"Gina, tell me what's going on."

"I just have this constant fear that I'm going to lose more people and more friends and the person I love, and I'm sick of it."

"You're not gonna lose people, Gina. Do you need a ride home?"

"I have work." I groaned.

"Now? It's almost 8:00."

"I have it from 8:30 to 10:00. Can we just talk for now?"

"Always."

•••

"So what's going on with Ash?"

"I snapped at her earlier. By accident. I don't know, sometimes her angel like kindness becomes too much for me."

"I get it. Sometimes she has good advice to give but you don't want to talk."

"Exactly. And I just snapped."

"It's fine, Gina. It happens".

"Thank you."

"Anytime."

•••

"Have a good night." I told the last few costume and crew members that night. Finally, I was done.

"Hey, Gi."

"Ricky." He walked into my trailer behind me.

"Are we good? Is everything okay with us?"

"We're good. Ricky, I'm just worried that you'll be like...embarrassed being off in college with a girl still in high school." I looked down.

"Gina, why would you think that?" Ricky asked taking my hands.

"Ricky, it's not-"

"Gina, really? I could never be ashamed of you."

Ricky's POV
She just shrugged walking over to the couch.

"Gina, talk to me."

"What's there to say. You'll be nineteen this summer and in college since you turned eighteen before your senior year started. You'll be nineteen with a seventeen year old girlfriend, and not everybody is gonna be very happy about that."

"I don't care what anyone else thinks. I care about us. I'm not letting you go."

"I'm sorry."

"Don't be. Just move forward knowing you've got me."

"I love you."

"I love you too, Gina bear."
