Chapter Eight (Your Effect)

Rajiv Pov

I was on my way to the office when suddenly the driver stopped the car with an urgent brake, causing my mobile to fall inside the car.

"What happened, Suresh?" I asked.

Driver: "Sir, someone is standing in the middle of the road."

I was already getting late for my meeting. After yesterday's scene, I don't want to give the office people any topic for discussion. I hate this thing; because of that stupid girl, I wasted my half day"  I muttered in frustration.

Finally, I found my phone and got out of the car. As I approached, I noticed some lady talking to Suresh. When I reached them, I heard her voice and instantly recognized it. Oh no, what is she doing here? I thought to myself, feeling a mix of surprise.

She's talking something. The driver is trying to tell her about my presence, but I signaled him to keep quiet.
" I'll teach that arrogant person a lesson." She said "is she talking about me here?"

"Whom are you talking about?" I ask

"Wahi non other than arrogant business men The Mr. Rajiv Mahnotra." She said so I am right she is talking about me and wants to take revenge, but what I did,she is the one who is the culprit.

Achha to aap kya karengi uske saath? (Oh, so what will you do with him?) I ask her again she didn't not recognise my voice

She turning her face and saying, "Uski ek nahi, saari ancient statues tod du.............."
(Not just one, but all the ancient statues I will bro...............)
She saw me and gulped her sentence. She put one hand on her mouth and the other hand on head head as if she was feeling dizzy and sweating. At first, I was really angry at her, but after listening to her revenge and stupid plans, I couldn't control myself and chuckled.

Suddenly, i saw a two-wheeler coming from behind her at high speed, about to hit her.In hurry , i pulled her hand and grabbed her waist, turning her around. Her back landed on the car door, and the rider went past us, bike slightly touching my hand. And because of the bike force my hand got scratch and it's blooding lightly.

I saw her face as she stood opposite me. My one hand was on her waist, and the other hand was on the car. She caged between us, I can feel her heartbeat, She was breathing heavily, and her eyes were closed. Her soft skin touching my dard one.

Author Pov

Reva opens her eyes and sees Rajiv standing there, asking her if she's okay. She feels a mix of emotions, unsure of how to react to his concern. Deep down, she knows that Rajiv has  been the reason for her problem, but at this moment, his soft tone catches her off guard.

Reva - (trying to compose herself) Um, yeah, I'm fine. Are you ok?

Before his answer, she notices a scratch on his hand  She grab his hand gently and  tends to Rajiv's injury, he can't help but notice the genuine concern on her face. It's the first time someone has shown such care for him since his Dadi and little sister. The warmth in his heart surprises him, and for a moment, he forgets about the chaotic events that led them here.

The driver saw his injury and got the first aid kit. Reva grabbed the kit and started cleaning his wound, applying ointment, and blowing on it gently.

Reva - (softly) Does it hurt?

Rajiv looking at her plum lips her lips making pout whenever she blow on wound only shake his head in no

They stood there, locked in a tense silence. The driver's throat clearing broke their gaze, and Rajiv signaled him to get into the car. As he was about to sit inside, Reva called out softly from behind,

"Thank you, Mr. Mahnotra, for saving me."

Rajiv turned back to look at her, his expression unreadable. He observed her flushed cheeks, but his demeanor remained cold and distant. He retorted, "What are you thinking of yourself? Do you really believe I did that because of you? If it were anyone else in your place, I would have done the same. Don't assume things. I know how you middle-class girls are, always looking for an opportunity to seduce a rich boy. But let me make it clear, I'm not falling for any of your tricks. So stay away from me and spare me your fake emotions. And by the way, we only have 5 days left until the event, in case you've forgotten our deal."

Rajiv sat in his car and drove away, leaving Reva standing there, feeling a mix of emotions. She was hurt by his harsh words and couldn't understand why he had been so cold and mean to
her

His harsh words hit Reva like a dagger to the heart. Hurt and disbelief filled her eyes, and a single tear rolled down her cheek. She couldn't understand why he was being so cruel and judgmental. All she had wanted to do was thank him sincerely for his help, but he had turned it into an opportunity to insult her and belittle her background.

Feeling hurt and humiliated, Reva turned away and walked back to the bus stop.On the bus ride back home, she couldn't help but replay his words in her mind. She couldn't fathom why he had to be so mean and hurtful.

Back at home, Reva tried to shake off the encounter and put on a brave face. She didn't want her family to see how much Rajiv's words had affected her. But deep down, she couldn't shake off the hurt and confusion she felt.

On the other hand

As Rajiv walked away, he couldn't help but feel angry with himself for his behavior. He didn't understand why he acted so strangely around her. The encounter with Reva had left him feeling flustered and out of control, which was not something he was used to experiencing. He prided himself on being composed and in control of his emotions, but she seemed to have a way of throwing him off balance.

He tried to shake off the thoughts and focus on his work, but her face kept popping up in his mind. He didn't want to admit it, but there was something about her that intrigued him. He found himself wanting to know more about her, despite his initial judgment about her being a thief.

Deep down, he knew he needed to stay away from her. She was a trouble, and he had his reputation and business to protect. But despite his best efforts, he couldn't deny the pull she had on him.

He sighed and tried to push the thoughts away, reminding himself of the deal they had made. He had to focus on that and not let himself get distracted by her. But little did he know that fate had other plans, and his life was about to take an unexpected turn with Reva's presence.

City Hospital and College

Meghna - Come on, sai. We have made such a great plan. Everyone is coming let's go na yarrr.
Sai - I really want you to join you guys, but you know I have to complete my assignments. Our exams are starting next month, and if I don't submit them on time, my marks will suffer. I want to come, but I really can't compromise my studies. Please don't force me.

Sai is feeling embarrassed about the last incident involving her brother and her friend. She doesn't want to face them, and that's why she's giving the excuse of pending studies to avoid joining them for the movie plan. The incident has made her uncomfortable, and she wants to focus on her studies to avoid any further awkwardness or confrontation.

Sai Pov

"Sai Dr. Rajat" Meghna say and I turn my face to look at him. He is sitting with his group. his most famous and popular Dr. In this hospital and college every girl is dying to date him but he has a lot of attitude because his topped in his last year, he continues working in this hospital because of rank one he received national award, he talk very less and always sitting with his few friends.Sometimes, he comes as a  guest lecturer in our lecture while continuing to work as a doctor. Everyone has a huge crush on him, and unfortunately I am also one of them.

There was a little incident where I accidentally spilled my coffee on his coat, and he shouted at me in front of everyone. This incident hurt me deeply, and as a result, i decided it would be best to keep my distance from him.

Sai deliberately turned her face away, not wanting to catch his attention, but Rajat noticed her out of the corner of his eye and smiled lightly. He continued talking with his friend, seemingly unaware of the impact his presence had on Sai.
