"Elias? Don't you have school?"

I blink. "Its midnight, ma. Go to bed."

"It is?" She frowns. "Huh."

"Go to bed." I sigh. She nods, closes the door and goes hopefully back to her room.

I lay back on the bed and look up at the ceiling. I was unfortunately home tonight, which was usual for me. But I had no plans, no nothing. Soleil was working, Julian was at home with his parents, Daniel had swimming practice.

And this is going to sound sappy, but without at least one of these three present, I am not going out with any of my other friends. Not even the football team.

My phone dings and I look down at it, only to realise its the group chat.

Julian: im going through a crisis??????????!?!??

Daniel: what now?

Julian: oh good, someone is awake. Its my first night at home and its KILLING me.

Elias: I actually agree on this one.

Soleil: you three make me go out every night that its actually starting to be weird to be home tonight. I can't wait for me to be in bed by 10PM.

Elias: you mean you can't wait to go back to your nerd life?

Soleil: asshole and yeah.

Elias: it won't change.

Julian: alright, you two stop flirting. I said im going through a crisis.

Daniel: we all are?

Julian: great then let's meet up and go to the park.

Soleil: its midnight? You also live 20 minutes away? How exactly am I supposed to get there?

Julian: oh.

Daniel: yeah.

Elias: can we get high over facetime?

Soleil: no, Elias, we can't.

Elias: nerd.

Soleil: shut up. I'm going to go binge watch White Chicks for the hundredth time.
