Blue POV

"Blue did you really eat all the damn leftovers?" Halle yelled out from the kitchen as I sat in the living taking my braids out because Lovie would be giving me a new style when she got home from school

I had been here for a while now and it's been way better than when I first got here. Now that everyone knew I wasn't a flight risk or snitch, they treated me better... well Halle and Lovie did.

Chloe was still the same old mean spirit as before, but she has stopped threatening me with her gun so that's a plus but it still sucks.

"Yeah I'm sorry, love said she's picking up pizzas when she gets back tho" I yelled back and I heard her groan in annoyance slamming the refrigerator aggressively like that would make any difference

She came into the living room changing the TV from my Anime to the news where my face was conveniently plastered all over the place.

It wasn't much new information since the last time I had watched the news. There was pulled footage from the home which showed my abduction, but since they wore gloves and masks plus them having no witnesses there was no way to identify Chloe or Halle in anyway.

After the call mama was strictly warned not to share any information that was given to her. Apparently the phone used to call my mom was their mothers old phone so it's not like authority's could trace it back to either girls anyway.

"If they know the car and phone belongs to Kiyana, why wouldn't her children be their first suspect? This is freaking dumb" i said shaking my head not wanting to see anymore of this nonsense

Anyone with any sense should've been able to figure this out by now, it didn't take a rocket scientist

"Nobody suspects two grieving girls with 4.3 GPA's and multiple full ride Ivy League scholarships." She laughed changing the TV back to what I was watching and I was stunned when I heard what she had just said.

"excuse me did I just hear that right?" I asked and she nodded shrugging like it wasn't a big deal when it was literally the biggest deal

"Never been in trouble a day in my life, thousands of community service hours, top of my class plus. Trust, I'm nobody's first suspect.." she told me and I just scrunched my face up not understanding her whatsoever

She's the top of her class and all these other amazing achievements yet she's completely ruining everything she accomplished by holding me hostage and blackmailing my mother. I didn't understand why she would do something so crazy

"How old are you again?" I asked her and she just laughed a bit looking at me. "16" she said and my jaw literally fell to the ground...

"no freaking way" I said mind blown, she was only 3 years older than me! She's a whole child herself, I couldn't believe it

"I don't look young to you?" She asked me and I nodded still trying to wrap my head around my new discovery.

"I mean yeah but it's unusual for kids to snatch up other kids... and isn't this your house? I didn't know 16 year olds could own their own homes" I said to her and this time she laughed even harder than the last

"You really think i could afford this nice ass house? Didn't you see the pictures of us literally homeless, living out of a car?" She asked me and I had to really think about it because i never really did before

I guess she could tell my next question because she answered before the words even left my mouth. "We're apart of this program with the state for underprivileged minority students who may be struggling with housing. As long as we are model students, we get to keep this home until we graduate college" Halle explained to me and I began to understand now
