I am the rock that which the surf breaks
I am the fire flowing in your veins
I am the daughter of the moon and sun
And yet, I am no one

You call me a liar and say I'm wrong
But I don't think you understand this song
All the hatred that you spew and spread
It's hurting me, I feel dead

They say the battle is only halfway won
That victory comes to the chosen one
But perhaps we all are destined for good
I must believe we should

There is no war without a battle to fight
And oh, I fight hard every night
Kiss me, tell me I'll be alright
For I think it's time to try

Try so hard to keep fighting
I'm not some ephemeral, fragile thing
I wipe the blood and sweat from my brow
The time has come, the time is now

Just hold me in your arms when I cry
Every warrior loses sometimes
But I just know I'll be alright
When it comes to the fight

I am not so fragile that I will break
I'm not so broken that I can't sing
I'm not singing because of you,
I sing for all to know the truth

I am not a fragile thing
Something that'll break
But something that'll sting
I will fight for my life

As I have every day since birth
It's time I know and accept my worth
The time has come for hope to rise
And pain to die
