Chapter 22

FRIDAY

Please ring, just ring

I was staring at the clock intensively, watching the pointer move slowly

only 2 minutes left

please ring so I can go

I never thought I would be so excited about this weekend's trip, but I'm so looking forward to it

I did have to talk Nathan into letting me go after what happened yesterday but he eventually gave in

one minute left, come on

I wonder what kind of a lake house his aunt and uncle own. I'm dying to meet them

he barely talks about his family so it will be nice to finally meet someone that he consider one

*sound of the bell*

FINALLY

I got up, packed everything in my bag and practically ran out of the classroom

I looked at my phone, 2.45pm

Kate said she finishes her last lesson at 3pm. I'll just go wait for her outside

I clicked on her contact and texted her

ME: "come outside after your last lesson, I'll be on the near by bench"

we'll still have about an hour left before we meet with Isaac and Nathan

I still haven't had anything to eat so maybe we can go grab something. I already packed everything yesterday so there's no need to worry about that

I began advancing towards the exit of the building, walking through the hallway, when I saw a familiar face appear not far from me

it was that girl

she was staring at me, like every time before

I walked up to her with only one thought on my mind 'who is she and what does she want?'

when I was just a good meter away from her, she turned around, ready to walk away but I picked up my pace and prevented that from happening

I gently placed my hand on her shoulder, making her turn around and look at me

"I-uh" she stuttered

"it's okay I just want to talk" I said

she nodded

I placed my hand back to my side and spoke up

"what's your name?"

"Nicole"

doesn't ring a bell

"do I know you?" I asked

she shook her head

"then why are you looking at me like I did something to you all the time?"

she looked at me with suprised eyes

"oh no, I didn't intend to appear like I hold anything against you, is just" she stopped, looking away for a second and then back to me

I gave her the 'yes?' look

"you hang out with Alex, right?" she asked

straight to the point I see

"I used to but we're going back to just being classmates now " I said

considering what happened yesterday, I think it's best if we end whatever this relationship between us is

"that's good to hear" she said, not wasting a second
