SATURDAY

Today is the day

I've been looking forward to this moment for the past three months

This competition is the reason everything started in the first place

I could say I'm excited but that doesn't even cut it

I'm already on my way to the town where the competition is being held

We're still about 20 minutes away, leaving me with more than enough time to overthink and worry

I know both me and Nathan are fully prepared, but, is he even going to be there?

When he promises me something, he sticks to it but this time, it's rather impossible

I felt a warm hand being placed over mine, causing me to look to the side

"you worry too much" Kate said

"I can't help it"

"he will be there, trust me"

I'm so glad she came with me

My parents are in the front, driving us to the figure skating competition

Kate said that Isaac will have many more matches she'll get to watch and that he said the same to her

In the end, she decided to go with me, no room for argument's whatsoever

I gave her a thankful smile before turning my gaze back to the window

Nathan's match already began

Our program is scheduled to start 30 minutes after Nathan's hockey game is done

I let out a sigh before leaning against the window

I have this uneasy feeling and I can't shake it off

I really can't

I walked inside the ice rink where the competition was being held

It was way bigger than the one me and Nathan practiced at

The tribunes were huge and mostly filled up with people already

I took my phone out of the pocket and checked the time

1 hour until our program

I better get changed and warm up

"I'll go find a changing room" I said to my parents

"I'll go with you" Kate offered

"okay"

I took my bag and began walking away, Kate right by my side

"I can't wait to see you wearing the costume me and Isaac bought you" she said happily

"me either, they're really beautiful"

"I can already picture how good you two will look standing next to each other with matching costumes on the ice"

I know what she's doing

She's trying to make me believe that he'll make it in time

But that's truly hard when he hasn't responded to any of my messages and the time's running out

We entered the changing room and thankfully it was empty

"so still no news?" Kate asked in a careful tone

I shook my head

"he'll text you back eventually"

"I sure hope so"
