Chapter 34

A FEW DAYS LATER

It's monday

It's been almost a week since I've last seen Nathan

We've both been occupied with studying for our final exams and he had a bunch of hockey practices on top of that

Therefore we kept delaying our ice skating lessons day after day

But now, we can't afford to skip it any longer, so today we're finally having a practice after such a long time

School's break was over last week but I couldn't attend the first classes

I mean it's not like I had a choice. Me and Nathan got stuck in the middle of the road during a storm when we were going back home from my parents

We stayed stuck on that road for so many hours, it was about 1 in the morning when the firefighters finally came to remove the tree from the road

I mostly slept during our waiting for their arrival

The moment they removed the tree we drove off and were soon home. I remember being really tired and my legs still hurting a little so Nathan insisted on carrying me to my room

The next morning he called me to check in with me. We called each other a few times and texted one another a lot those last few days but didn't have the time to meet up

I won't lie, I'm really excited to see him today

Sadly I'll have to wait a little longer

He had a hockey practice right after school so he's already at the ice rink, which means I have to walk there by myself

I asked Kate to come with me but she had to turn me down. Apparently she has a few more assignments to take care of and she wants to do them as soon as possible so she can meet with Isaac in the evening

I didn't want to interfere with her school work so I let her be

I exited the school building and looked up at the sky

Today's a beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky

It's also pretty warm. If I hadn't had a practice today I'd totally wear a dress but since I don't want to waste time with changing, I just decided to wear a pair of black leggings and a beige crop top

I checked my phone

It's currently 2pm

Nathan should be done with his practice any time now. I better get going

I started walking towards the ice rink

Just a little longer and I get to see him again

I entered the ice rink and closed the doors behind me

I took a look around and saw that the rink was empty

I took out my phone and quickly texted Nathan

ME: "hey, I'm at the ice rink but I don't see you anywhere"

It didn't take him long to reply and a new message soon appeared on my phone screen

MY NATHAN <3: "wait where you are, I'll be right there"

Okay then

I shifted my eyes from my phone to the path before me when I heard footsteps

A smile appeared on my face when I saw Nathan coming towards me, still wearing his hockey gear

He stopped right before me, looking down at me

He just stared at me so I spoke up

"what? do I got something on my face?"
