chapter 17: teaching wally how to drive

You both woke up and you streched, again, your boyfriend wrapped his arms around your waist. "Honey... Stay? " he yawned and looked at you sleepily. You laughed and nodded, snuggled into him. You didn't have anything better to do anyway. He smiled and nudged into you. However you couldn't help but giggle, just a bit. Never the less that's how you spent most of your morning until he decided you both should get ready for the day, you put on your favorite outfit. Today you guys thought it'd be nice to go to the fair that was being held at surprisingly, near your old Town. You didn't like the idea at first, but wally seemed fairly interested in it, so why not? You were about to get into the car when you noticed something was missing, your keys! You laughed to yourself and looked at wally. "My dear I'll be right back, forgot my keys. " he chuckled and nodded. "Got it lovely. " when you returned you looked rather puzzeled to see wally sitting in the drivers seat.

"Can you even drive? " you asked leaning inside the car on the drivers side, looking at your love, with a smile on your face, laughing. He nodded nervously. "Why of course I can y/n..what makes you think that? You don't trust me? " you giggled once more before throwing your hands up in defense. "Here, how about this wally, I drive there, you drive back? I don't EXACTLY trust you on driving as I've never seeennn you drive. " you smirked at him motioning him to move to the other side. He rolled his eyes jokingly but moved anyway to the other side. You got into your normal drivers side and you two headed off. Happily soon enough after roughly an hour of driving, you guys arrived there. It was mid afternoon and others were pulling up, although you noticed your family was there, you called them over just to hang out and ride things together, but as well maybe having an actual chance for wally and them to have a conversation. Which ended up being quite pleasant, then, you noticed Austin, your old friend getting out of the car from behind your dads truck. He ran up behind you hugging you.

"Hey y/n! Long time no seee! Also I know I said this last night but you did amazing during the musical! " he jeered with you as you looked at him with a slight smile as you slightly pushed back, you missed him but you weren't big on people randomly hugging you. You felt a sense of tension, you just weren't sure from who it was between. Wally then gave a loud "cough" and smiled. "We came here for the rides, right? Let's not just stand around.. " he took your hand softly, but making direct gaze with Austin. You didn't notice this as your mom was blissfully talking to you, but then your dad pointed out some rollercoaster. You all went on it, but you were a but nervous. You backed up at first and wally held your hand.

" are you scared my dear? " he asked looking at you warmly, but kissed your head. "There's no need to worry, I'll be right by your side, you can hold my hand if you need too.. " he cooed before it was your guys turn to get on, he picked roughly the front of the roller coaster as the worker then strapped you in. There was a count down and a buzzer. Right when the buzzer went off you guys went flying. You screamed but you loved it, yet holding wallys hand in the air. "OH MY GOD!! " you exclaimed, wally couldn't help but laugh at your reaction. However the ride was short as it quickly ended within a minute. You caught your breath and got off, a little wobbly, but wally was there to make sure you stayed balance. Austin yet again jokingly went to push you as wally grabbed his hand before he could. He pulled back but still cheerfully went to go talk to you. "You should've seen your face! " he barked out while laughing. You rolled your eyes playfully and laughed. "Whatever.. " you smiled as then your boyfriend gently pulled you over as you smiled up at him, there was photos taken and he paid to have them printed for you both to keep.

The rest of the time was pretty fun, you even got a few stuffed animals from those rip-off stands that were around the amusement park. Your boyfriend wouldn't live it down of losing, which was a little funny to watch, but you were still thankful. Finally you were tired, and even wally was to a point. Before you went to go leave Austin smiled. "Hey, y/n, since we haven't spoken in awhile how about we hang out at the nearby coffee shop? " you agreed and thought nothing of it, though again you couldve sworn wally frowned for a minute.

He then smiled at you and went into the car, on the drivers side. "I guess it's time for me to prove myself huh? I can drive!!! " he jeered happily. You laughed and nodded. "I guess so. " and just then, he started and continued, he started up and not even a little less then 25 minutes later, he hit someone's back end, you guys ended up fighting with the person he hit, well, wally more fought with him, you sighed and a few weeks later you guys went to court. You weren't impressed and rolled your eyes on the way to the courthouse.

"You knew how to huh? " you sighed but tried to play it off. He shrugged and mumbled something in which you didn't quite catch. You then pulled up as the court case started. You looked around as the judge spoke and they went back and fourth. Soon enough after a good few hours it ended and the judge hit the hammer. "Welp, by hear of this court, I say to sentence wallace darling to take drivers Ed classes, until you can learn to drive and get your license. " your eyes widened and almost laughed.

"His name is wallace? " you thought to yourself as you tried not to laugh, but you kept calm and nodded. That settled then. You pulled him over after with a small laughter. "I thought your name was just wally! Not Wallace! " you couldn't help but giggle. He laughed softly and shrugged. "I guess I never thought I would need to tell you, it's just a longer version of my name. " he stated with a small smile as then you got in the car. You discussed how it would be for him and he fussed a little bit but didnt say much.

The next few weeks flew by, and within a few months, it was official, your silly boyfriend finally got one, and he was free to drive, finally! You joked about it and to celebrate you threw a small surprise party as a joking gag, he though, didn't find it to amusing. Never the less you two went to bed and you fell asleep. Although wally was still hung up about who this Austin guy was, you as well since that day of the amusement park had been fairly close, and it made wally uncomfortable. He wasn't sure why though as after all, you had plenty of friends. But why was Austin different? After a bit though, he did end up falling asleep.
