chapter 1: moving in, hey neighbor!

It wasn't just another normal day as you opened your eyes and yawned, your friend woke you up as you sighed. "Right... " you mumbled to yourself as you lifted your body from the soft bed, and stretched. Today was the day to finish packing and head out to a place that was known to be colorful, and usually labeled "lovely home, welcome home" you needed a new place of change which is why you decided to get out of this neighborhood to begin with. None the less you walked downstairs and talked with your friend.

"Are you ready? " you heard f/n ask. You looked over and nodded. "Yeah! Let's get this show on the road! " you chirped back as you grabbed 2 boxes and started filling them up with said items, so far left was some kitchen ware and towels. You packed them into the two boxes and loaded them into the car. Finally after a few hours, you took a breath and wiped the sweat from your head. With a sigh of relief you looked at f/n. "Finally... Didn't think we still had that much.. And I forgot about the cleaning! Tired me out.. " f/n only gave a laugh in return before responding. "Well, you better not fall asleep, y/n! I swear, we gotta get there first and unpack! " you laughed with them and nodded, getting up into the car you started the engine to drive. Of course it was a good few hours away so you did have to make some stops for some drinks and food.

After what seemed like forever you slowly pulled into the small, colorful hometown. I looked around

"It's.. Beautiful! " you exclaimed. It wasn't like at the old place, it was new, and kind of cute. "I can't wait to decorate it myself! " you thought as you continued to pull in, finally you two got out and stretched.

"What a ride! " f/n said sighing.

"Agreed" was all you could really get out, you needed to save my energy for unpacking after all. When all of a sudden, you see a man walk up, yellowish skin, combed up blue hair in a really.. Interesting, 50s type almost with rainbow pants and a blue sweater, he gave the softest smile you could've swarn you've ever seen.

"Hello neighbor.. I'm Wally! Wally darling. It sure is nice to meet you, you must be y/n and f/n. " he winked as a half flirt and took your hand in his, shaking it. You looked a bit taken a back and looked away. "Well.. It's nice to meet you too Wally! " while your friend looked a bit off put. You were still in a long distance relationship although it hadn't been going so great anyhow. But still none the less. Maybe this fellow was just like this. But then his voice started again, after he noticed the expressions.

"Oh! My sincerest apology dear neighbor, I happen to do that with everyone.. " he smiled warmly and bowed an apology. You chuckled a bit, taking his apology, and smiled with relief.

"Good thing this place isn't filled with anyone or anything strange,  Finally a new place to start off" was all that you thought before coming to your senses again as you realized you hadn't really replied for a minute, and your friend, along with the male looked a bit concerned and he apologized once more.

"I am- truly- sorry! " he looked away, this time a bit more worried than his seemingly cunning personality. You smiled and laughed. "You're okay Wally, it's no worry really, I zonked out for a minute, no worries. " he smiled in relief and nodded. "I see.. Very well then, I'll see you later today then? Bye neighbor! " and with that Wally had turned around back into his house, though as you looked where his house was, next to yours, something was extremely off about it. It had... Eyes. None of the other houses did.. Maybe it was just a design? Who knows. You shrugged it off as you gave my best friend the look and they shared it with you.,of "that house is creepy!!!" before we started loading the boxes in, then, Wally once again came up.

"So sorry to disturb.. But I do notice you've been out here for 30 minutes and.. Those are a lot of boxes and seemingly not quite small, I can lend you a hand! " he smiled happily waiting for a response. He may be friendly but he didn't wanna be intrusive, he already felt a little bad for what he perceived as freaking you out. Gratefully i nodded. "We would love some help- thank you! " you said with exclamation, just happy that maybe it would go  a bit faster for today.

As time went on, it started getting later, you felt yourself getting tired but as you looked up you noticed both Wally, and f/n were still unpacking, but very tired. That's when you let out a sigh and sat down, calling out.

"i definitely think we should rest, we've been at this for a good 4 hours." You said out loud sitting on a crate, as your furniture wouldn't be arriving until later tonight. F/n sat next to you but had their headphones in, so you let them rest before checking in on them. With that being said you felt myself lean against the wall. You noticed about Wally though that he had taken an interest to me strangely, as of talking.

'I'm sure it's nothing, right? ' you mumbled to myself, but then turned to Wally with a smile.

"Hey, thank you so much for helping!" You met gaze with him, he so far seemed the happiest, then again you haven't met any of the others. To with what you said he nodded and gave me a bigger smile then what he already had displayed on his face. "You're welcome, y/n! I'm always welcome to helping someone. " Wally said also holding the gaze, but then your friend turned off their music and yawned. "Let's go grab food from the car.. Wally want anything? " they asked standing up. He nodded and followed out with you behind your friend to the car.

You guys ate and went back to the house, finishing up for the afternoon, but by the time it was actually finishing up, the sun was already going down. Wally looked at you.

"Say, y/n do you guys have furniture coming or... Did you need somewhere to sleep? I'm sure home wouldn't mind" his voice rang out after it felt like a while of no speaking due to everyone eating. You thought. 'Did... He just call his house as like.. A person...? He's a little strange but he seems friendly.. ' you thought through your head but replied. "No we have it coming, it's okay, thank you though! " you gave a smile to him and he nodded. "Well, I'll help with the main furniture then.. Just a bit longer right? " he asked, in response you nodded.

Finally the furniture did arrive in the truck, and Wally helped you unload it and so did f/n. All of that took another 2 hours and you sighed, you felt your body ache everywhere from all the work you did today. Wally sighed.

"Good work both of you, we finished! " he gave a soft laugh and turned away. "Goodnight neighbors! " and he went into his house, the "eyes" moved though, which did creep you out a bit.

Finally you decided to end the night with a hot shower and to decompress, your friend was already asleep, passed out on the couch snoring away. You smiled halfly as you then later came out, getting ready into your favorite pj's and you woke your friend to go into their room, in which they did, and you went to yours.

Right before you headed to bed, and you were falling asleep, your "partner" had texted, but you could barely keep your eyes open, and fell asleep.

Breaking up, manipulative behavior, and an argument in the beginning, not so happy at the start but I promise it will be rewarding, it focuses on you and Wally A LOT more:))) again thanks sorry reading chapter 1!
