chapter 5: 2 surprises, one good, one bad

The next morning you noticed you had fallen quickly asleep, but woke up to the smell of breakfast being made downstairs. You groggily rubbed your eyes and got up. Making your way downstairs you were a bit surprised to see Wally wide awake, but also found him really cute as he had his hair totally down and a little messy, which is something you haven't seen before. But as he heard you walk down he turned to face you with a warm smile. "Oh! Good morning y/n..i made (favorite breakfast) for you here! " he smiled and was finishing up cooking before he sat it on a plate and sat it at your table. He also then pointed to papers that were laying on the counter. "I also finished those for you, friend. " he smiled softly as he made his way to the fridge, you were a bit shocked to realize everything he was doing and could only feel yourself get a bit shy. "Well.. Thank you so much Wally, I... Really do appreciate it! I don't deserve all of this th-" he gently cut you off. "Ah ah ah, you deserve everything y/n, the most if you will. " he smiled softly as he poured a drink for you and handed it over, before sitting down himself. You felt your heart race but calm down as you looked at him with the smile. "Well, still thanks.. It means a lot! " he nodded and rested back, reading the paper that had came in through the mail, and talking about it with you. You weren't to sure why but every word you felt your stomach twirl up into love knots as you call them and focus on him, but also making sure to eat what he just had made for you. A bit later you yawned and looked at him. "I'm gonna shower Wally.. You can go if you'd like but.. Up to you! " he smiled and nodded in response, you went upstairs and took your shower, getting ready for the day. Although when you came back he was gone, but you noticed him outside talking with f/n. When you came out they quickly stopped their conversation and turned to you "hey y/n! " your friend greeted you with a hug, as you hugged back and talked for a second before pulling back and looking at both of them. "What we're you too talking about that you had to stop when I came out? " you gave a small chuckle and Wally budded in. "Nothing to worry about, y/n! " he laughed shyly as well before glancing off. F/n then quickly seemingly brought you back inside saying that they wanted to talk to you about their girlfriend which you were more than happy too for them. But they had added on that their girlfriend would call them back and have to leave soon, along with the update that Wally would also be coming back, he had things to do first though, and with that you gave a simple nod, not paying much thought into it. As your friend talked that's when they got the call and stood up. "Well, I gotta go, see you y/n! " you nodded and smiled. "Bye! Have fun with your girlfriend!" you added, then walked up into your room, you noticed your job had left some work so you settled down to do that, you had your favorite music playing and it was a few hours before you had heard someone call your name. Then them coming up the stairs. At first you got defensive and got up, grabbing whatever was closest to you but quickly relaxed as you saw Wally just walking up. You waved to him as he called out your name. "Helllloooooo? Y/nnnn" he said in such a soft tone you looked over and waved him to you. "In here Wally! What's up? " he quickly turned himself into where you were and happily made his way to you. "Hey.. So I want you to go out there, just really quick... " he smiled and you were a bit confused. "What for? " you asked tilting your head. He laughed. "I promise you'll love it! " was all Wally gave you. And with that you let out a sarcastic sigh and playfully rolled your eyes. "Okay okay! " within a few minutes he called you back in, and you were in complete awe. The reason why he was talking with f/n was because he was finding out other things that meant a lot to you so you guys could bond over a movie, which you noticed was one you had mentioned in the past, along with some of your favorite snacks and drinks. You smiled happily and felt an overwhelming sense of joy as you hugged him, which this time he spent no time hugging you back. "I'll take that as another form of you thanking me...? " he laughed quietly looking down at you. You nodded quickly and sat down next to him, you couldn't believe it but you were afraid you had to admit, a part of you was falling for him, but it wasn't as scary. And too a point you thought he was falling too. But you weren't going to ask right this second, you couldn't, you felt too shy every time you went too. Slowly though you settled in and you looked at him, whom in which Wally was invested in the movie, you giggled to yourself quietly as he seemed very cute like this but slowly when the movie came to a more un interesting part you nudged him "heyyy Wally I have a question" you whispered as to not speak over the movie. You looked down at you. "What's up y/n? " he asked with a even quieter tone. You blushed and felt yourself get nervous but had to ask. "Why... Are you doing all these things for me may I ask? " and with that question Wally felt his face heat up and he adjusted his bow around his neck, and looked down at you. "Hello, obviously it's because you're my ever so lovely neighbor and I'm showing you that I appreciate you! " he laughed glancing down and away at you. Which you picked up when you noticed he was nervous. You nodded and smiled, but couldn't find a way to get the tint of your cheeks and the twirl of butterflies and the fuzzy feeling in your mind to go away as he was there. There was a strange feeling though that you wanted him to say it was because he loved you. Although, you found yourself feeling silly over such things, but still, what they may have called in love. You took what he said as an answer and nodded before going back to the movie. After a bit, and after it finished the both of you stood up and stretched. That's when he smiled.

"Actually.. Y/n one more thing, there was this coffee shop.. So maybe we could go to one? " he smiled down shyly at you and you nodded. "Of course! " and with that you two headed out. Although a slight disappointment struck through you when you noticed your ex sitting there. You felt your heart break as you came to a full stop before walking into the shop. Wally looked at you. "Something wrong.. Y/n? " he asked fully turning to you and taking your hands in his, causing you to feel all fuzzy again. But you looked up. "Yeah.. Thought I saw someone that's all! " you laughed to yourself. And he nodded, his gaze going back forward as both you and him ordered. When you say down for drinks, you noticed your ex making your way over to you, which Wally had already been analyzing his behavior and quickly picked up on the fact you didn't like him. He had a feeling he knew him. But still smiled, or tried to as your ex started to talk. You told him to leave you alone as to which he kept pushing, you got fed up and glared at him, but you slowly turned your head to Wally giving the most possible horrid stare you could ever imagine on his sweet face. His eyes seemed to be darker, and with a not so innocent smirk he spoke. "My friend..do you have ears? Hellooo....? Hello....? Yeah I'm messing with you but.. It's so very obvious MY y/n doesn't wanna be talked to. So, please, escort yourself.. " Wally said with a friendlier tone then what his face was giving off. But you felt yourself get shy when he mentioned you being with him, as if you two were together. You sighed in relief as you watched your ex go and thanked him, he turned around and smiled happily as if nothing just happened. "It's okay y/n! I didn't mind! " he laughed happily and you shrugged but the thought of what he said earlier still haven't left your mind, within time it was getting later and you both ended up paying for the drinks, before leaving. Then when you got home Wally agreed to another movie, he fell asleep though, holding you which you were incredibly flustered but couldn't be bothered to move. However instead, you slept together in each other's arms.

However as you were asleep, Wally woke up in cold sweat as he glanced around. The house was very angry at him, and it was clear. He looked over at you sadly and wrote a note explaining he had to just go back home but he and the most time with you. This wasn't gonna be too great...
