Father Bryce finally let us out of the stupid hall and we dashed for the door.
Jake : We have to find th-
My words were cut off by me slamming into another high speeding entity.
Jake : Hey watch where you're!-
It was Lexy, tears and markings of mascara forming on her cheeks.
Jake : Oh my god! Lexy what's wrong?!
Lexy : It's Nad-...
She bolted away sobbing and ran to hide in her room.
Cory had this terrified look on his face.
Jake : We have to find out what happened to Nadine.
Cory : You don't think-...
I really hope not.
Jake : Listen, let's just try and find everyone.
Cory : Okay, where do we go?
I started Jogging in the direct of the staircase leading to the boys corridor and I could see Devon walking up the stairs.
Jake : Devon!
Devon : Jake!
He ran up to me and hugged me.
Devon : Where have you two been-
Cory : Sister Ruth is working with Chucky!
Devon : Wha-
Jake : Do you know where everyone is?!
Devon : What is happening?!
Jake : DEVON, WHERE ARE NADINE AND DENIS?!
Devon : I don't know!
Nadine turned a corner and spotted us.
Like Lexy, she had tears in her eyes and her permanent smile had became a heart-breaking frown.
Jake : Nadine? What happened?!
Nadine : I-I told Lexy that... I l-like her as in more than f-friends and she ran away...
The sound of her voice breaking ached my heart further.
Cory : She did what?!
Anger brewed within Cory's tone.
Nadine : I knew she d-didn't like me b-back but she was scared of me!
Nadines crying kept her high-pitch.
Devon : I'm sure she still loves you as a friend. Maybe she was just taken aback?
Devon hugged her as a form of comfort.
Nadine : Thanks Devon.
Her whimpers softened.
Nadine : She thinks I'm a freak.
