I already regret waking up. I have been happy recently but it's taken effort. Without my pills the mere presence of a smile is hard to muster up. Devon is the probably the sole reason for my happiness and that isn't fair on him.

The memories of my dream faded away and I got up. I feel asleep in my uniform. I quickly got changed and glanced over to the boy I presumed to be sleeping in my bed. I was met with warm eyes and a sweet smirk from the boy.

Jake : Were you watching me?

He just giggled and hid his face in the duvet.

I walked over to the bed and slowly moved so I was holding his waist, laying next to him.

He resurfaced his face and stared into my eyes.

Jake : You're beautiful.

Devon : Guess we're well matched.

I smile grew impossibly larger.

Devon : You are in a good mood.

My smile faded to seriousness.

Jake : It's because... I love you.

He had a streak of fear and a tinge of something else flash upon his face.

Jake : You don't have to say it back. I just wanted you to know, I love you.

Devon : I love you too, I was just surprised.

The air grew soft and comfortable.

Jake : I have a headache.

Devon : Do you want me to go get medicine for you?

Jake : No, it'll pass soon.

I closed my eyes but held off from falling asleep.

Jake : You should probably get changed.

Devon : What time is it?

I looked over to the cryptic clock.

Jake : 10 past 5.

Devon : What? Do you mean 5:10?

Jake : That's what I just said.

Devon : No you said "10 past 5." No one says it like that. It's 5:10.

Jake : What?!

Devon : You're the weird one!

Jake : Oh shut up.

I leaned in and kissed him gently. There was something about this kiss. It felt more... everything?

Devon : You're still wrong.

I huffed as his gaze softened like dough.

Devon : So Shakespeare, worked on any poems lately.

Jake : Yes but they were made for your ears alone.
