I opened the book that I shared with Lexy.

Lexy seemed to notice my hands slight shaking.

I laughed softly.

He just rolled his eyes and turned away.

I leaned over to Lexy to whisper.

Nadine : Did I say something?

Lexy : No he's just a dick.

I snickered.

Devon looked... off?

Nadine : Devon? Are you okay?

Ruth : Nadine, no talking.

Nadine : Sorry mam.

She continued with her boring lecture.

Jake and Devon are so lucky! So are Cory and Denis! They're gay and poof, suddenly they have boyfriends. Why can't I have a girlfriend?!

Lexy grabbed my hand gently and skipped over to our secret place.

We opened the door that lead to the staircase.

Our secret place was a tower that gave you a view of the entire school.

(Yes, I'm talking about the one from episode 7 of the series... I'm sorry.)

Dim candle light illuminated the walls from the suns shadow but not enough for someone to look up and gain suspicion.

Drawings hung on the wall and my stuffed animals collection was scattered about with soft carpet to comfort bare feet.

It was cozy.

Lexy : So... are you okay?

Nadine : Of course!

Lexy : Then why did you look so... scared?

Nadine : Probably just nervous for Jake and Cory.

Definitely not because you were making me blush-

Lexy : Oh.. alright. Not gonna lie I'm a little bit bored..

Nadine : I like you!

Lexy : Huh? I like you too silly?

Nadine : No... I mean...

I gave her an apologetic look that should've finished my sentence.

Her reaction made my heart-race. She looked scared.

Nadine : I'm sor-

She ran down the stairs and left without another word.. what have I done?..
