There were murmurs as she walked the room. She was wearing a black top and blue jeans. In addition to her red ginger hair, she had a facial expression that everyone recognized, an expression known throughout the school. As she was walking with her white snickers towards the headmaster, professor McGonagall called on her name, and everyone knew who she was:

-Amalia Snape. The professor screamed holding a list in her hand

Everyone looked at her. They all knew professor Snape and none of them liked him. He was serious and intimidating.

She sat in a chair and the professor put the sorting hat on her head. Amalia was nervous. She always wanted to be a Slytherin but her mother was a Gryffindor. Moreover, in honor of her mother, she hoped to become one of the red ones, but the hat did not come in her favor:

-You are very complicated, even more so than Mr. Potter. It is a combination of all the houses that makes you smart, ambitious, and courageous. You have all the talents required in each house, but your inner self is saying something, it is saying that your wish is to be one of the Slytherins. Therefore, I am choosing for you the house of the green and only SLYTHERINS.

The table with the green boys and girls started cheering; they were welcoming their new friend. Some looked content, while others were upset and angry. In a way, Amalia was confused, happy to be in one house, but disappointed in not making it to Gryffindor. After getting up from the chair, she was embraced by her father who gave her a big and tight hug. He was happy and proud of his daughter, he was smiling while she was about to sit with the other students who were welcoming her with warm hands, and she sat close to a brown-haired girl wearing her uniform with a green tie, probably the Slytherin tie, she was smiling at her presenting herself:

-I am Pansy Parkinson. Nice to meet one of the Snape families.

-Amalia, well, I guess I am the last one you will meet

-I hope we become friends then. Your father is my favorite teacher, and I love potion class

-Yeah, well, my father is professor Snape, so I guess you are the only one who likes him. Amalia said with a giggle

Pansy laughed as well, and they talked the entire meal. Amalia was delighted to have found a new friend she liked. After their feast, Pansy escorted Amalia to the dungeons where the Slytherin common room is. As they approached, the brown girl said the password:

-Pure-blood

The painted board then opened to show a big room in emerald green. In the room, there was a lot of green, but in particular, there was a couch in the middle. This was in front of a fire with flames that were so bright that it sent a wave of heat into the room. The girls were in awe and surprise.

-I come here every day and yet I am always amazed by the charms of the room. Pansy said

-Yeah, I admit that it is beautiful, but I have a question. Amalia asked

- What is it?

-Why is the password pure-blood?

-We cherish the fact that wizards and witches shall be pure-bloods, born of a wizard father and a witch mother. A boy was walking towards them as he was responding to her question.

-What if there are no pure-bloods in here?

-We would rather test them, but most of us are pure. I am Blaise by the way

-Amalia Snape, but I think everyone already knows that

-You are Severus Snape's daughter, that's not easy, girl.
