We were hugging on the dark pavement of one of their streets in the subdivision when another roar of thunder echoed, followed by sharp lightning that made her gasp in bewilderment. And that's where something hit me.

She's still shaking.

"Attorney," I called, panicking.

"Hmm?" Ungol ba 'yon?

A small smile engraved on my lips as I heard her last sniffle. I decided to put the coat back on her body again. She flinched at my sudden touch, making her shift her weary, alluring eyes toward me.

She pouted. "Don't smile,"

I shook my head and nodded.

I quickly grabbed her hand to hurry.

"Take it off baka magkasugat ka pa."

I felt her chilly grasp on my hand, her hushed violent whisper caused me to tense up, sending a chill through my body.

"Magpapaa ako?"

"I can carry you," I suggested.

"But I won't let you carry me."

We ran, hand in hand, through the rain and thunder. My face contorted with a mixture of fear and excitement, but I wouldn't let go of her hand. We ran together into the night, and the storm was our only companion.

"Three streets before my lot."

Ngumuwi ako sa kanyang sinabi. Ang layo pa, jusko! Ramdam ko pa naman panlalamig niya na.

When another lightning strike lit up the whole place for a few seconds, our eyes found a bungalow alone in the place.

"Come on, I can't take the coldness anymore." She hissed again before dragging me into the vicinity of the house.

We stepped through the small, unfinished gate, and as soon as we did, a light bulb flickered to life, illuminating the cozy porch that awaited us.

She irritatingly moved the door knob, and we were both surprised na hindi naka-lock iyon.

"Get in, goodness!" She impatiently slammed the door, startling me too.

"Dahan-dahan lang, hindi atin ito." I warned her, but she was already angry because of the bad weather.
