I'm going out into new York city alone at night, as a girl. I'm going to need protection.
I walk out of my room and shut it as quietly as possible then make my way to the elevator.
As I'm about to press the button, I pause.
The elevator makes noise, noise that could wake anyone up.
"Shit" I whisper.
But a flashing red light flashes in the corner of my eye in the dark hallway.
Stairs
Emergency exitThank you Jesus! I walk towards the door and open it, softly closing it before continuing down the stairs.
I make it a few steps then freeze when I realize something.
I'm up thirty stories high.
And I'm about to walk thirty stories down.
Oh this is gonna take forever!
I groan and stomp down the stairs, taking two at a time, at least I'm not walking thirty stories up.
Then I freeze again on the steps.
When I get back I'm going to have to walk up all these stairs...
Nah no way.
I spin around and walk back to the door.
I put my hand on the handle and push.
It doesn't budge.
"Shit!" I shout this time but quickly slapping my hand over my mouth.
I really did not think this through.
I grumble out a curse words as I turn and go back down the stairs.
____
About twenty minutes later, yes twenty minutes. I finally make it to the exit door.
I push it open a tiny bit and look out the crack, realizing I'm in a underground car park.
I try to spot anyone around, no brothers, no guards.
I slip out the door and pull out my phone, slipping it out of it's phone case.
I turn and put it in between the door, so it doesn't shut fully and I can get back inside.
I know, I'm so smart.
I walk away from the door, looking around the car park.
Then I spot the garage door and run up to it.
I see a green button which obviously means open so press it.
I pray it opens quietly.
But of course it doesn't.
It makes a loud screeching sound, I wince and jump behind the wall to hide.
There could be guards out there.
