Y/N's POV

The rest of the week passes fairly quickly and it is almost time for Christmas. At my request, Scarlett didn't plan anything too big, not wanting to have a repeat of Thanksgiving. The day after Christmas Eve would be spent with Scarlett's mom and the day after we would go up to colin's parents. I still want to keep the number of people knowing to a limit and I love that Scarlett is totally okay with that. Scarlett and I also tried to not go out on the streets too often together as we did not want more pictures taken together by the paparazzi. Because the more pictures and sighting the more speculation there will be and we both don't need the attention right now.

I and Rose had gotten inseparable in the past week as well, to the point where Scarlett can find one of us by locating the other. I also did some studying, since I still had an exam to do after Christmas break.

Christmas morning rolls around and I am super excited. Christmas was never celebrated that big when I still lived in the Netherlands but here in the US, it is massive. I have, of course, also seen the number of presents that are located under the tree and even though I am not a little kid anymore it is still very nice to see that someone spent money on you.

During the week I had done some shopping for presents, even though Scarlett protested when I showed up with them to put them under the tree when Rose was sleeping.

But the day is finally here, I get to spend a nice day with my family. It still feels weird to call them my family, but they are the only ones that I have right now since the one that I thought was my family clearly doesn't want me anymore. The man that used to be my father slowly stopped sending messages as well. I don't know whether it was me not responding to them or if my former mom decided he could not do it anymore. Anyway, it doesn't matter anymore because I now got an amazing new family for it in return.

I walk to Rose's room to find it empty, of course, the little girl is already awake. How could she not? I mean if am this excited then the excitement is ten times as big for her. I continue my way down the stairs when I see everyone already there, including Scarlett's mom Melanie.

"Good morning, how nice of you to finally join us." Colin jokes, everyone else laughing in response.

"Morning."

Scarlett moves aside, showing that they left a spot for me on the couch, but I join my little sister on the floor.

"Yay, we can finally start opening presents now that Y/N finally joined us," she screams.

"Rose inside voice please." Scarlett corrects the little girl. "So before we get into the presents under the tree. We have a special present for Y/N that we want to give her." She continues.

She and Colin hand me an envelope with big smiles on their faces. I open it to find several pieces of paper inside with a set of keys in there.

"What is it," I ask confused.

"Read it." Scarlett encourages me.

"Dear Y/N,

Even though there have been papers that have been signed, these ones haven't yet. The past week and the week before when you were here we have enjoyed your company a lot. Your presence lights up the room whenever you are there. What happened with your adoptive parents is very unfortunate.

Please know that we would never abandon you like that. You coming back into my life is honestly the best thing to ever happen.

All of this considered we would like to ask you if this is okay of course if you would like to be a permanent part of this family.
