POEM #28: GHOST CONNECTION

"Ghost Connection"

Every time someone turns their back on me

I build a castle as a souvenir

A remembrance of the person

As time goes by, castles are getting bigger

The bigger the castle the greater the pain

The day you told me I was just a friend

I immediately build something bigger

Bigger than the rest of what I have made before

And now that building is inhabited by the ghost

I am being haunted by our ghost connection

A connection that never existed, only an imagination

Or it did exist but it is dead now

It is no longer with the living

I own a wide garden and a large castle

But my garden is only surrounded by thorns

Shredded pieces of glass on the floor

And some flowers that will prick you

They will only prick you but at least they are pretty

While my castles are empty, it is abandoned

Spider webs are hanging on every corner

Silent halls make your voice and agony echo

You throw it away but it will come back to you

It will come back again and again

Don't even bother, don't even try

You will just waste your time

Ghosts are living in my home and it gives me shivers

But at the very least they keep me company

I sit at the edge of the long table,

Lifting my golden goblet into the air,

Blood red wine spills along with my tears

It is such a great day and I am such a liar

There is no salvation from this situation

I have lost hope for a happy ending.
