The following morning, you awoke on your own. There was no blinding light jolting you awake, no sudden sound of your butler's voice invading your dream. Just the slow stir of your consciousness coming forward as your eyes fluttered open.

You inhaled deeply and rubbed your eyes, blinking away the sleepiness. It was then you felt the arm around your shoulder. Looking up, you saw Sebastian was still lying beside you. His head was rested against your headboard and his eyes were closed but you knew he wasn't asleep. A small smile couldn't help but curl on your lips as you imagined what his sleeping face would actually look like. If this was the closest thing to it, it was so cute!

The birds chirped cheerfully outside and you relished in this small moment. This was probably the most well rested you've been in a while. You slept so soundly you almost couldn't believe it if not for the way you felt right now. You sat up and yawned a bit, giving Sebastian the notion that you were awake, though he already knew.

Those crimson orbs opened, his hand slipping from your shoulder to the small of your back.

"Good morning, my Lady."

You looked at him with a satisfied but groggy smile. "Morning."

His eyes couldn't help but admire you. Your sleepy face and ragged bed head, the way the strap of your black tank top slipped off your shoulder. The glow you had returned. Quite delicious.

"I hope you slept well last night." Sebastian said, sitting himself up and making his way out of bed to open the curtains.

Lifting your arms over your head, you groaned through a deep but relieving stretch. "Absolutely! It was amazing."

Truly, you could go back to sleep right about now just to relive it. But there was work to be done. Plus, you didn't want to push your luck; you still had a schedule after all. You watched your butler push the curtains back on either side of your bed and smiled at the gentle sun coming through.

"It pleases me to hear that, my dear. A good night's rest can make all the difference."

You scoffed a bit. "Yeah, no kidding. Thank you, by the way."

Sebastian made his way to your dresser, fetching your morning work out clothes. "Whatever for, Miss?"

"For staying with me last night. I know it's not...y'know, our usual thing but it was nice. So, thank you."

The demon did not often hear words of appreciation for performing his duties, but coming from your lips made them so much sweeter. He turned to you with your clothes in hand, and gave you that closed eye smile. "There will never be a time where you need to thank me, my Lady. I am here for whatever you need."

You smiled back a bit and stood up, stretching one final time. "Still. Even servants need praise every now and then."

Taking your clothes from him, you made your way into the bathroom where your own reflection made you wince. Your (h/c) hair was absolutely unruly, and you could actually see lines imbedded on your cheeks from sleeping so hard on Sebastian's chest all night.

"Jesus, I look horrible."

"Nonsense." The demon countered as he watched you from the other room, adjusting himself in turn. "You are beauty itself no matter the time of day,"

You could almost gag at how corny that was if it wasn't charming at the same time.

"I'll return with some water. Then we will go over the itinerary for the day." He continued before leaving you to get ready.

Genuinely, you were pumped to get the day started. You had so much energy, and the only thing on your mind was Edna Hyde. As you predicted to Sebastian, you never forgot her face even with the horrible street lighting and your intoxicated state. You could pick her out of a crowd, no doubt about it. Now, the only problem was finding out who she was and what her motive was.
