"I'm sure she'll be fine Damon. Considering everything you told me about her, she's strong, just like her father. She'll make it through and she'll be back with you in no time," Bonnie said laying an encouraging hand on his shoulder as he smiled at her grateful for her words. He squeezed her hand on his shoulder to show his thanks before he heard the others stirring and quickly kissed her forehead before walking away.

As Bonnie moved toward her friends to wake them up, she couldn't help but reflect on the unlikely transformation of the guy she had once despised into one of the most important people in her life. How that had come to be was a mystery, but at this moment, she didn't care about the details. What truly mattered was that she had someone to care for and who cared for her in return without any ulterior motive, unlike most of the others in her life, Elena especially. She had slowly come to realize that Elena wasn't as innocent as she seemed. The way Elena constantly threw herself at Damon was nothing short of revolting.

There had been numerous occasions when she had gone to spend time with Damon in his house, only for Elena to show up unannounced, casually walking into his room without even knocking. Bonnie would quickly hide, not wanting to answer any questions, which meant she ended up overhearing everything that happened from Damon's closet. Elena was being all flirty and just gross and she had never felt more disgusted because most of those times were when Elena was still with Stefan.

Bonnie had considered telling Stefan the truth, but Damon had vehemently opposed the idea. He didn't want to hurt his brother or make him think that he was lying just to break Stefan and Elena up so that she could be with him. She was deeply perplexed by the fact that so many people believed Damon loved Elena, something she had once thought herself. However, after getting to know him better, she understood that this was far from the truth.

Damon was worried that Stefan might suspect his motives, and Bonnie offered to support him, to back him up if it came to that. But Damon believed there was no point because Elena had a knack for twisting the truth to paint herself as the innocent party, making them seem like the villains who were "falsely" accusing her of infidelity. They both knew that involving themselves in such drama would only prolong the pain for Stefan, and neither of them wanted that.

So while Bonnie didn't directly tell Stefan, she dropped subtle hints from time to time, and Damon, catching on to her intentions, began to play along, albeit more discreetly on his part. He didn't want his brother to be hurt, and he understood that the longer this relationship continued, the more it would hurt Stefan in the long run when he eventually discovered the truth about Elena. So they did what they could to protect Stefan and let him come to his own conclusions.

Bonnie was well aware that the break-up had happened largely because of their influence on Stefan. It was their subtle guidance that had prompted Stefan's doubts to surface and the questions to emerge. Elena's transformation into a vampire had only intensified her already noticeable traits, particularly for someone who had lived for more than a hundred years.

As she gently woke Stefan, a sense of sadness washed over her, seeing the persistent frown on his face. Even in sleep, he couldn't find peace. Elena had profoundly affected him, and Bonnie couldn't help but think that the Salvatore brothers might indeed be better off without her in their lives. Yet, she chided herself for being too harsh. They had shared good moments, and there was a time when she and Elena were inseparable. But now, those moments were few and far between.

She couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness about the growing distance between her and Elena. They used to be inseparable, but Elena's obsession with being the center of attention had driven a wedge between them. She couldn't help but find some amusement though in the numerous times Elena had tried to gain Damon's attention, only to be met with his hilariously sarcastic rebuttals.
