I Made a Promise

Chapter 70

-Beginning of December-
-Skylar is 28 weeks-
~Skylar's POV~
I'm 7 months pregnant now and officially in my 3rd trimester. And, it's been really hard. Everything is now getting more and more difficult to do. Walking up the stairs, putting my shoes on, bending over to get something. It's been a huge adjustment.

Today actually should be a fun day. Maxx has career day at school, so he wanted Daniel and I to come and be there. So from what we know. We're assigned a room and we have to basically explain what the job is and just answer some questions that the kids have.

Maxx came into the kitchen with his bag.
"What time is it?" He asked me.
"It's... 7am. What time do we have to be there again?" I asked him.
"7:30" he said.

I went into mine and Daniel's room to get something.
I was at my nightstand when I felt someone grab my waist.
I turned around and saw Daniel smiling down at me.
"Good Morning." I smiled and wrapped my arms around him.

He kissed my forehead.
"Hey my gorgeous wife..." he whispered.
He put his hand on my stomach and smiled once he felt our daughter kick his hand. He chuckled under his breath.
"She's getting strong." I laughed.
"Just like her mom." He laughed.

"You know.. we still haven't discussed names. We should really get onto that..." I told him.
We keep meaning to discuss names, but we just keep forgetting and putting it off.
"Maybe later today." He said.
I nodded my head.

We had to leave so we left to the school.
"So Maxx, do you know what room we go to?" I asked him. He was in the backseat.
"Not a clue. They give it to you at the office." He said.
I nodded my head.

"So what are you doing to do while we're setting up?" Daniel asked Maxx.
"You guys have stuff?" He asked us.
"Yea, we got some stuff from headquarters. It's basically just like an address to our district. The headquarters district. Some magnets, pencils, and those squishy stress balls." I explained.
"That's cool." Maxx said.

We pulled into the school.
We got the boxes from the trunk.
Daniel wouldn't let me hold one.
"Babe, let me at least take one..." I laughed.

"No, it's fine. We got Maxx here." He said as Maxx grabbed a box.
I jokingly rolled my eyes because I knew there was no easy I was winning this.

We got to the school and went inside.
We had to go in through the front office.
"Hi, we're here for career day?" I told the lady at the front.
"Ok, can I have your names?" She asked.
"Skylar and Daniel Quinn." I told her.

She wrote on two sticker visitor passes and gave them to us.
"Room 305. Third floor." She told us.
We went upstairs and found the room.

There was already a table and the chairs were set up already.
"You guys need help setting up?" Maxx asked us.
"Not really. What are you gonna go do?" I asked him.
"Probably go see if my friends are here." He said.
"Don't get in trouble." I laughed.

"Hey, can I borrow like 5 bucks to go get something from the vending machines?" He asked.
"Yea sure." I said, giving him a 5 from my wallet.
"Thanks. Good luck." He said.
"Make sure you don't get in trouble for wandering." I laughed.
"Don't worry, I won't. If anything, I'll say I'm in breakfast for something."  He laughed too before he left.

Once he left, Daniel and I started to set everything up.
"How do you turn on this projector?" Daniel asked me.
We had a presentation to show the students as well.
I looked at the projector.
"I'm pretty sure you have to press that button up there..." I said.

Daniel soon figured it out while I finished setting the table up.
We had a few things to give to all the students. We have about 500 things each, so we hope that's enough.
"Oh babe, don't forget we have that baby appointment at 2." I told him.
