Happiness is fragile, while joy is a feeling of endurance. God is good, but sometimes we forget it. Every time we realize God is good and His promises are kept, we become happy and relieved. When we live knowing and conscientiously realizing God is good we have joy. Happiness, like pain, is fleeting it is something we find ourselves constantly searching for. Living with joy is a choice of conscientiousness.
The world pulls us apart and divides us for selfish reasons, but we are united in the Spirit. We find ourselves in constant competition, in jealousy, and intense want to win hoping it will lead us to pleasure and happiness. Joy is different and nearly oppositional. Joy is found in togetherness, love, and connection.
Scripture: Philippians 2:1-4; Psalm 34:8; 1 Peter 1:7; Ephesians 4:4-6
