Ayame was dreading entering her room. Was Sasuke going to be there? Most likely. Was she scared to face him? Definitely.

She had avoided being grounded by her father after Mikoto had kindly explained that the night before at the party, Ayame had somehow broken the lower part of her arm. Ayame hadn't been in full concentration to listen to the reason how. The reason why her father hadn't been informed of this was because they didn't want to worry him.

Any excuse to stay with another person right now just avoided her. She knew, the instant she went upstairs to her room, Sasuke would be there. She was terrified to see him, though she knew it was stupid to.

So, she slowly made her way upstairs, heading down the corridor to her door. Her hand shakily made contact with the handle, and slowly but surely, she eased the door open. Taking a deep breath, she slowly stepped through the gap between the door and frame, closing the door behind her and plunging the room into darkness. The curtains were drawn, and due to the dark colour of the curtains, barely any light was seen.

Ayame swallowed a lump in her throat. She had been right in her guesses.

Sasuke was sat on the end of her bed, and hadn't looked up at her entrance. He wore his leather jacket as always, which he would have taken off by now if the situation wasn't as it was, and his shoes remained on his feet. He had his hands clasped together as he stared at the ground, silently thinking.

She said nothing as she shrugged off her jacket and looked through her wardrobe for a change of her own clothes. Mikoto had kindly lent some of her clothes to Ayame for the day, but Ayame would feel more comfortable in her own clothes.

Returning after changing in the bathroom was awkward. She headed over to the bed, sitting at the top of it and crossing her legs. She stared at Sasuke's reflection in the mirror, and saw he was looking straight back at her.

Quietly, Sasuke's weak, - broken, almost - voice, spoke up. "Tell me you'll forgive me..." He said softly, his eyes pleading as he looked at her.

Ayame was silent. She looked down, swallowing a lump in her throat.

"I don't mean forgive me for not telling you what I remember." He said, turning around and looking at her directly instead of through a mirror. "Forgive me for... For what I did."

"You could have killed me."

"I know."

"And you expect me to forgive you like that?"

"We have our faults, Ayame. Mine is short temper and hatred for a certain redhead, but I'm sure that's not a fault of my own."

Ayame tugged her knees up to her chest, hiding behind them. "You scared me." She mumbled, biting her lower lip. "No, scared isn't strong enough. You terrified me."

"I know. And I'm so sorry," he attempted to move closer, but a look from her forced him to stay where he was. "I didn't mean to hurt you. I promise, I will never, ever let this happen again. It's just... Our conversation and then... What you said just pushed me over the edge. I honestly had never meant to attack you like that."

"I'll apologise for what I said." Ayame sighed softly. "But I won't just forgive you in an instant. And no, you can't buy me chocolates and expect me to get over it this time. This time, it's a more serious matter than my irritating stubbornness."

Sasuke nodded. He sat in silence for a moment, biting his lip as he thought, but soon spoke up. "I can show you what happened that night." He said, looking up at her. "Well, what I remember, anyway. If I show you it and prove I'm not lying about not having memory of that night, will you forgive me on that matter, at least?"
