Chapter Twenty Eight

I never thought that the sight of so many could make me so sad. I love children and babies and before the selection I wanted to be a doctor. Christmas music was playing and nothing could have prepared me for the moment I walked into the hospital and saw what I did.

Children of so many different ages. Many had bandannas around their heads to hide their baldness, an affect of all the chemo therapy. Children with pale skin, discolored skin, ashy and flaky skin.

Children in wheel chairs, in beds, children with needles and IV bags following them around everywhere they went. Some had more energy than others. They ran around tossing toys to and fro.

For my hospital of choice I chose a children's hospital. A normal hospital would not be good for me. I couldn't tolerate the thought of dying people, I thought at least children would be easy. I didn't expect this.

I didn't expect ill dying children.
