Imagine: You recently moved to a new town, which happened to be possessed by the ghost of a mother who killed her children. When strange things start to happen in your home, two men show up to help. Things start to get out of hand when your mother tries to kill you.

A phone was ringing in the kitchen, so I quickly went to answer it. My mom's. She must've been busy, I thought. The caller ID said Agent Dean Hawkins. I furrowed my eyebrows, answering it and pulling it to my ear.

     "Hello?" I said.

"Y/N," Agent Dean replied, sounding frantic. "Hey, kiddo. Where's your mom?"

"Um...I don't know," I told him, looking around. "Why?"

"Y/N, I need you to listen to me," he said. "You need to get out of the house as fast as you can. Can you do that?"

"What? Why?" I wondered, getting nervous.

"I don't have time to explain, alright?" Agent Dean told me. "Get out of the house now. We're coming to help you."

"Help me?" I repeated, confused. "Alright, I just have to go get my mom and tell her --"

"No, not with your mom!" he shouted suddenly, and I furrowed my eyebrows. "You need to stay away from your mom."

"Agent, you're not making any sense," I said. "You're scaring me."

"Look, I know you're scared, but I just need you to listen to what I'm telling you and get out now," he ordered.

"Ok, I will," I told him.

I hung up the phone, scared. I figured I didn't have much of a choice. My quick steps took me up the stairs to my room to grab my bag with my things in it and my jacket, and then I quickly ran down the stairs while trying to put my arms in my sleeves. When I got to the front door, my mom was standing there in front of it, staring at me. Her expression was terrifying to me. I swallowed nervously, wondering what to do.

"Mom?" I asked her.

"Where are you going, sweetie?" she replied.

"...T-To Stacy's house," I lied to her. "To study."

"Really? Are you sure you don't want to stay here
and spend quality time with your mother?" she said, almost tauntingly.

I watched as a black liquid fell from her nose, and my heart pumped against my chest as I got scared. Looking down, I noticed the kitchen knife in her hand. I didn't know what to do then. She started to step closer to me, and I backed away.

"You're not my mom," I concluded.

"Let's play a game," she suggested.

"Get away from me!" I yelled, still stepping away from her.

I picked up the flower vase next to me on the coffee table, throwing it at her as hard as I could. She growled as it fell to the floor and shattered, but I had already been running toward the steps to get upstairs. Her footsteps trailed behind me as I went into my bedroom, slamming the door and locking it behind me.

Suddenly, her hand and the knife in her grasp popped through the door, almost stabbing me in the back of the head. I gasped deeply, stepping away. Tears filled my eyes and I breathed heavily due to fear. My mom beat the door trying to get in. Behind me, I had an old baseball bat leaning against the wall next to my closet. I picked it up and lifted it over my shoulder, ready to attack despite my shaky hold.

The banging stopped and her shadow under the door went away. I breathed shakily as I stayed there silently, waiting for something to happen. The door busted open, and she came through, running toward me to try and stab me. She yelled out, and I quickly hit her in the head with the bat to stop her. As she tried to recover from the hit, I ran past her and back downstairs.

I swiftly ran to the basement and locked the door behind me as I ran down the stairs. As I carried the bat with me, I found my way to the crawlspace, which led to the space under the house.

As I crawled under the house, I tried to find a good hiding place from my mom until the agents got there. I took a stop, breathing very heavily with tears in my eyes as I realized what part of the house I was under. The kitchen, where the front door was.

My plan was to try to break the floor above me and pull myself up to get out. But I didn't have much time. I had to try to work fast. I started to beat against the floor with the bat, grunting at my hard work. After many hits, I poked a hole through the floor in the kitchen. Then, I heard the voices of two men in my house. Agents Sam and Dean had shown up.

"Y/N?" Agent Sam asked. "Is that you down there?"

"Yeah, it's me," I answered emotionally, terrified for my life.

"Alright, hold on, we're gonna get you out of there," Agent Dean said.

"Please hurry!" I shouted.

"Just try to relax," Sam told me. "We've got you."

They started to rip the floor up by the fake tiles so it was a big enough hole for me to climb up through. Then, I heard a sort of growling come from behind me, and I knew it was my mom that had found me. She grabbed me by my hood and yanked me down into the dirt. I screamed in terror as she held me down and held the knife up, ready to plunge it into my chest.

"Mom, no!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. "It's me!"

She wrapped her hand around my throat, trying to cut off my airway. I gasped deeply, grabbing her wrist. I couldn't breathe as she was ready to stab me. Tears fell out of my eyes.

"Evelyn, no!" the Agents yelled as well. "Evelyn!"

"Evelyn stop!" Agent Dean tried, reaching down through the hole and grabbing her wrist to stop her. "That's your daughter! Evelyn!"

"Evelyn, fight it!" Agent Sam chimed in. "Remember who you are!"

She yelled out in fury, trying to kill me. Tears streamed down my face while I tried to breathe in. My vision started to darken. Suddenly, she dropped the knife and let go of my neck, and she breathed heavily. I took a deep breath in, pulling myself back with my elbows as I coughed. She had that black liquid running out of her ears, nose, and eyes, and it was smeared all over her face. She dropped her head toward the floor so we couldn't see her face.

"Evelyn?" Agent Sam asked.

Mom lifted her head back up, looking around her to see what was going on. She was confused. I was shaking in fear and crying as I watched her closely. My neck was burning.

"What's going on?" Mom asked us. "Y/N, what's wrong?"

"Mom?" I questioned. "Is that you?"

"Evelyn, are you with us?" Dean wondered.

"Y-Yes," Mom replied, and I was relieved.

"Alright, nobody move!" Agent Dean shouted. "We're coming to get you!"

I didn't move. I just stared at my mom without saying anything. There was never a time in my life where I was that scared. And I couldn't believe it was because of my mother. I couldn't wait to get out of there and have the agents save us.
