Imagine: Being in an AU, and Jack was you and Cas' kid. So you're both mourning his death when he got sick

**************************************

I sat next to my son, Jack, staring at his closed eyes. My eyes were puffy and cherry red, my cheeks were pale. I thought of ways I could bring him back, considering making a deal at the crossroads. That probably wouldn't work, I thought, because the demons can't bring back a nephilim.

I sniffled again, and the door opened. I knew who came in, so I didn't turn to look. Just looked at Jack.

"Y/N, it's been days," Castiel said, standing behind me. "Sam, Dean, and I, we're worried about you."

"Look at him," I whispered, voice breaking slightly and he set his hand on my shoulder. "Our baby boy. He's gone. How did we let this happen?"

"We did everything we could for Jack," Cas said, and I looked down. "He was..He was just too sick. Dean thinks it's time we say, 'goodbye.'"

"No, we can't just burn his corpse and act like nothing happened," I said. "Cas, he's our son. We have to do something."

"We've tried everything," He said, and I looked up at him, standing up.

"If we tried everything, he would be alive," I said through clenched teeth. "Stay here."

I left the room and Cas didn't listen. He followed behind and grabbed my arm.

"Where are you going?" He questioned and I pulled away.

     "To save Jack," I said.

"Y/N, Y/N!" Cas shouted, holding both my arms and looking into my eyes. "He's gone! We can't bring him back. I already lost Jack, I won't watch yourself fall into the dark for him. I understand that he was our son, but we have to accept that he isn't with us anymore. Y/N, I'm begging you. Please."

I let a tear fall down my face, and he pulled me in toward his shoulder. Tears dropped onto his jacket as we stood there in a hug, and I closed my eyes. He squeezed me tighter.
