Imagine: Telling Dean about what happened. (imagine #93 pt. 2)

   ***

I sat on my bed at the motel, elbows on my knees as I stared off into space. Dean came over, handing me a beer as he sat right next to me on the end of the bed.  I sighed.

"Thanks," I mumbled, looking at the bottle before taking a big sip.

"Alright, just...start from the beginning," Dean said. "Tell me what happened."

"...It was just a couple of demons," I shook my head, looking at the wall. "Sam was fine. I mean, he was...normal. But when we found those guys...I don't know. Something changed."

"Like what?" Dean asked.

"I was cornered," I went on. "One of the demons took control. I wasn't able to fight back. He was gonna kill me. But..."

"But..." Dean urged.

I looked up at Dean, not sure how to explain it to him. I took a breath, licking my lips. I had to look away again.

"Sam stopped him," I cleared my throat. "He, uh...he exorcised him."

"Well, what's so wrong about that?" Dean wondered.

"He did it with his mind, ok?" I snapped, looking at him. "He exorcised the demons with his mind...Didn't even hesitate."

I stood up, sipping my beer again. I rubbed my forehead, pulling my beer down as I grabbed my hip. I shook my head.

"So you're saying...Sam -- my brother, Sam -- exorcised two demons using Jedi mind tricks?" Dean concluded. "Y/N, come on, that's nuts."

"Yeah, I wouldn't believe me either," I said, looking at Dean. "But I know what I saw. He didn't even say a word, he just...did it."

"I can't believe what I'm hearing," he said, looking down. "No. Sam's smarter than this. I thought he was smarter than this."

He dropped his head, scratching behind his ear. He was upset by what I was telling him. I sighed, dropping both my arms.

"Look, I wish to hell I was wrong," I said. "Believe me. But I'm telling you, he needs our help. He didn't want me to tell you."

"He said that?" he asked angrily, looking up at me.

"He told me that he had to do this to stop Lilith," I said. "He wanted me to keep it a secret...Look, I think deep down, he knows it's wrong. Otherwise he wouldn't think that we would stop him. I mean, that makes sense, right?"

"No -- None of this makes sense!" Dean snapped at me, shooting to his feet. "Look, it doesn't matter what's going on deep down. We have to stop him before he's too far gone."

"Ok, well, then...what do we do?" I asked.

"We find a way to figure out how he's getting the power, you know?" he said. "We just have to spy on him."

My phone rang suddenly, so I pulled it out of my pocket. I looked at the caller ID. I sighed, looking at Dean. I gulped, answering it and turning away from Dean.

"Hey," I said to Sam.

"Hey, Y/N," Sam greeted, and Dean looked at me, silently questioning what Sam was saying. "You hear back from the hospital about those guys yet?"

"No. Not yet," I told him, keeping it simple.

"Alright. Well, I'm heading back to the room," Sam said. "You sure you don't want anything from the diner?"

"Yeah, I'm sure," I said. "Hey, uh, Sam?"

     "Yeah?"

"I've been meaning to talk to you about the, uh...the thing," I said. "I mean, I think you owe me considering we've been lying to Dean."

"Ok, just...you can't say anything to him, alright?" he told me again. "I'll see you back at the room."

     "Right," I said.

I hung up, looking at Dean. I then tossed my phone on the bed, dragging my hand down over my mouth.

"Ok. Ok, this is good," Dean said. "So you just figure out what makes him tick. Then we'll know how to help him."

"Great. Awesome. More lies," I said, sighing.

"Hey," Dean said, grabbing my arms. "We gotta do this. He'll thank us in the long run."

I looked down, nodding. He kissed my forehead, patting my shoulder before walking away. I thought about everything, wondering what to do next. It all felt wrong.
